Renowned and controversial singer Robin Thicke, of ‘Blurred Lines’ fame, has been spotted on holiday with his family in Los Cabos this week. The singer is a regular visitor to the Mexican holiday destination.
Thicke is most famous for his song Blurred Lines, featuring supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, however more recently he has featured on season seven of Fox’s The Masked Singer.
Thicke is travelling with his wife April, who he has been with for eight years, and three children, Lola, Mia and Luca, as well as family friends who arrived in Los Cabos over the weekend.
April Love Geary, his wife, posted a variety of photos to her Instagram account wearing multiple outfits and hanging out with Thicke by the pool, one of which was captioned, “I f—king love Cabo”.
On Tuesday afternoon, the couple were spotted cruising around the bay on a luxury yacht with friends, and later partied on the beach where they shared shots of tequila.
Thicke also appears to have spent the day swimming and fishing in the blue waters of Cabo – the star posted photos to his Instagram with his wife and fishing rods in the background while on the yacht.
They are accompanied by some of the couple’s closest friends, including April’s best friend Dina McBride and her husband Parker. Based on photos, the couple looks to be staying in one of Los Cabos’ exclusive resorts while they’re in the area.
April Geary also posted a series of videos to her Instagram stories, revealing that the pair have been joined by her parents, and the whole family enjoyed a lively candlelit dinner in their accommodation with food and live music.
Robin Thicke is a long-time fan of Los Cabos, choosing it as a holiday destination many times over the years including most notably in 2014 when the star and his son were stranded in the area during Hurricane Odile.
He is the latest in a long string of celebrities who have vacationed in Los Cabos in 2022. Most recently, rapper duo and couple Cardi B and Offset visited the area for a party holiday visiting a range of nightclubs and bars.
Also spotted were Justin Bieber and Michael Jordan, as well as Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. Bieber was in the area with his wife Hailey as part of his world tour, while the Timberlake’s stayed in an exclusive resort for their holiday.
Last week Brazilian billionaire Jorge Paulo Lemann was spotted cruising the area on his yacht, adding to Los Cabos’ quickly growing reputation as a destination not just for celebrities, but for those looking for a luxury vacation.
The area is already home to a number of exclusive hotels and resorts including the Waldorf Astoria, The Cape, One&Only Palmilla. Most notably, there is also a Nobu Hotel, which houses the world-famous restaurants and has recently been named as one of the world’s best luxury hotels.
The reason behind the many famous faces in Los Cabos, as well as booming tourist numbers is that Los Cabos has implemented a successful post-Covid recovery plan to boost tourism in the area.
This year alone, Los Cabos has received a number of accolades, including being the safest and most LGBT+ friendly destination in Mexico. The authorities have also funded training for both police to safeguard tourists as well as tour guide certifications, with Los Cabos having the highest number of guides in the country.
The region is going from strength to strength and expects to welcome millions more tourists in 2022, both via new airline routes and over 700 cruise ships now that restrictions have been lifted in both Mexico and the USA.
