A recent report ranked Los Cabos as the third destination in Mexico in terms of the quality of experience offered to tourists.

This is not too surprising as in the last few years this destination has quickly climbed the Mexican popularity ladder, becoming one of the top destinations in the country for international tourists.

The Municipal Director of Tourism of Los Cabos, Donna Jeffries Alvares, declared that this municipality welcomed over 3.5 million visitors in 2023.

Commenting on these positive results, she stated: “This achievement is a testament to what can be achieved when working together to achieve shared goals.”

Donna Jeffries Alvares also declared that the 3.5 million travelers who visited Los Cabos in 2023 created a great economic profit that the local government used to contribute to local economic growth as well as support several sustainability projects.

She later said that Los Cabos will continue its effort to improve its tourist experience to provide an even better service to its visitors in 2024. But why do people keep coming back to Los Cabos?

Breathtaking beaches

With the highest number of blue-flag-certified beaches in North America, Los Cabos is undoubtedly one of the best destinations in the country for those hoping to enjoy the sea.

From Lover’s Beach to El Medano Beach and Santa Maria Beach, visitors will be spoiled for choices.

Los Cabos also has plenty of areas where tourists can try out water sports such as surfing and kitesurfing, with some beaches suitable for beginners and others perfect for experts wanting to master their technique.

But this is not all. Los Cabos’ surroundings also offer plenty of stunning places where you can enjoy the ocean and level up your surfing game.

Not by chance, only a few days ago, four beaches in La Paz, El Saltito, Balandra 1, Balandra 2, and El Coromuel were awarded the Platinum Certification.

Despite this, it’s important to keep in mind that some beaches are not accessible to bathers due to their dangerous water conditions.

Some of these include Playa Solmar, Divorce Beach, and Pedregal Beach. This is why it is fundamental for tourists to always follow lifeguards’ advice and pay attention to the flags placed on the shore, indicating whether a certain area is safe for bathers or not.

Luxury services

Los Cabos is home to a wide variety of all-inclusive resorts renowned worldwide for their top-notch services and state-of-the-art amenities.

With properties such as the Grand Velas Resort, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf And Spa Resort, and Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, travelers here will be able to enjoy the most opulent experience.

Most of these accommodations feature ocean-view suites, indoor and outdoor pools for when swimming in the ocean gets too dangerous, and other great amenities such as fitness centers and spas.

Los Cabos is also renowned for its fine dining restaurants. With world-renowned chefs serving their latest creations using the best ingredients these lands have to offer.

This municipality also has a great variety of luxurious activities for couples, from sunset cruises to see the famous Los Cabos arch to unique spa treatments and the possibility of hiring private yachts for exclusive parties.

High safety levels

Last but not least, Los Cabos’ popularity among foreign tourists keeps increasing thanks to the high safety levels characterizing this municipality.

Especially compared to other areas of Mexico, Los Cabos keeps positioning itself as one of the best destinations when it comes to perceived safety.

This is mostly due to the many initiatives carried out by the local government on a daily basis to ensure the safety of all tourists and locals.

For instance, the most popular beaches in the municipality are now regularly patrolled by expert lifeguards to avoid accidents of all types.

In this regard, only a few days ago, the local government announced the decision to recruit more lifeguards who will be trained for a period of six months to learn all the skills needed to help people in need at sea.
