This means that hotels and resorts in Los Cabos are regularly nearly full and that tourists wanting to book a holiday here should plan their stay well in advance if they want to find a good deal.

Lizli Orci declared that the Hotel Association’s aim is to maintain these high numbers during the whole high season.

A 90% occupancy rate

Commenting on this stunning occupancy rate, the Executive President of Los Cabos Hotel Association declared that in order to keep the numbers high it’s important not only to offer state-of-the-art resorts with the best amenities in the country but also to work on the municipality image.

In particular, he mentioned the poor state of the main highway in Los Cabos, the Transpeninsular Highway, declaring that works are being carried out to improve its general condition, for instance by replacing and fixing broken street lights.

Lizli Orci also pointed out that the Hotel Association is now working with airport authorities: “On the issue of the airport, we also make coordinated efforts with the authorities to make the waiting time shorter,” declared Lizli Orci.

The Executive President of the Los Cabos Hotel Association is now aiming to keep the occupancy rate high for the beginning of 2024 while putting an effort into attracting tourists with a higher purchasing power to benefit the local economy.

But why do tourists keep choosing Los Cabos for their holiday?

Why do tourists keep choosing Los Cabos for their vacations?

There are several factors that keep contributing to Los Caobo’s popularity among Americans and tourists from other nationalities.

One of the key reasons is surely the high safety level for which this municipality is often renowned.

Compared to other areas of Mexico, Los Cabos is, in fact, extremely safe. Not by chance, a recent report ranked this municipality among the safest in the country.

Specifically, Los Cabos tends to have a way lower rate of homicides compared to other municipalities with only four cases throughout the whole month of October 2023, according to the Criminal Incidence Report of the Common Jurisdiction.

The Los Cabos government is also trying to constantly put in place new initiatives to increase its safety levels for both tourists and locals alike.

To give an example, recently new police officers were added to Los Cabos forces to patrol tourist areas in the municipality. But this is only one of the many measures put in place in the last few months.

For instance, in 2023, police authorities started to use drones to increase safety in Los Cabos while installing security cameras to help officers with their operations.

But of course, the high safety levels are only one of the many factors leading thousands of tourists every year to choose this destination for their holidays.

Another common reason is Los Cabos’ stunning nature.

With UNESCO-certified natural areas such as Cabo Pulmo National Park and the Sierra de la Laguna Biosphere Reserve, Los Cabos can offer tourists the possibility of immersing themselves in the most unspoiled nature while trying exciting activities such as hiking, snorkeling, and camping.

Los Cabos is also known for having the highest number of blue-flag-certified beaches in North America, with a total of 25! This means that tourists choosing this destination will not only find the cleanest beaches where to sunbathe and surf but also the highest security levels and best amenities.

Lastly, Los Cabos is particularly renowned for being one of the most luxurious destinations in Mexico, with celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Michael Jordan often choosing this place for their holidays.

Not by chance; every year massive hotel corporations such as Hyatt and Four Seasons notice Los Cabos’ potential and decide to build new state-of-the-art all-inclusive resorts to attract more tourists.

Apart from luxury accommodation options, Los Cabos is also renowned for its fine-dining restaurants, such as the Los Tamarindos and Cocina de Autor.
