Los Cabos has been recognized with multiple awards this week as the city continues to experience a booming tourism economy in recent years. The 2022 Travvy Awards, the 8th year for the prestigious award ceremony, held sponsorships this year from large companies such as Allianz Partners, Air Canada, Enterprise Holdings, and smaller entities such as the Los Cabos tourism board and Sandos Hotels & Resorts.

Winners were selected in over 140 categories that included awards in areas such as air travel, cruising, hotels, travel companies, and destination awards in multiple geographic areas. Winners were announced and honored at a lavished gala on November 3rd, 2022 in Florida at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. 

Best Destination In Mexico

Los Cabos took home various accolades, but the star of the show was winning first place 2022 Travvy award for the best destination in Mexico. Cabo was followed by Puerto Vallarta in second and Cancun in third place. 

The award comes in the wake of a historic year for Los Cabos in the tourism sector. Forbes recently named Los Cabos one of the top travel destinations for tourists from the United States and many celebrities have made Los Cabos as their go-to vacation spot. The city is continuing to expand rapidly to accommodate the record tourism numbers it is achieving with investments being made to create new hotels and resorts, some of which will be opening as early as 2023.

Along with multiple tourism records being broken, Los Cabos restaurants, resorts, and beaches have also received accolades in 2022. Mona Lisa Restaurant in Los Cabo recently won the most picturesque restaurant in the world and six Los Cabos resorts were recently awarded the prestigious AAA five diamond distinction. This accolade is extremely selective and reserved for properties with the ultimate level of luxury amenities and unmatched service.

Los Cabos beaches have long been a draw for both national and international visitors and are the primary reason the city has thrived as a go-to tourist destination. Los Cabos was recently mentioned as having the best beaches in North America with El Chileno, Playa Balandra, and Playa El Médano being given specific accolades for being three of the top beaches in Mexico.

 Los Cabos is well known around the globe for the diverse and high-quality cuisine it has to offer. The city hosts many food festivals and has even gained Michelin star chef’s attention. Los Cabos is consistently being praised by visitors for the highest standard of service and quality. That is why it is no surprise that the 2022 Travvys Awarded Los Cabos with the distinction of best culinary destination in Mexico. The city finished ahead of Silver winner Puerto Vallarta and Cancun who took home the Bronze Medal.
