One of the leading travel magazines in the world Travel & Leisure just published their list of the top 25 resorts in all of Mexico. The Cabo region had 9 of its top resorts featured on the list, a number that was only matched by the Cancun region. In spite of the fact that the cities had nine apiece, it must be said that Cabo resorts in general were rated higher than the ones in the Mexican Caribbean.
It was the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, in Cabo San Lucas that was rated number one on the list. The resort opened its doors back in 2019 on 24 acres of prime Cabo real estate on a beachfront where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.
It’s the high end resort in Cabo for which a controversial underwater tunnel had to be built to allow guests to reach the property. That particular tunnel is torch lit and kicks off the entire Waldorf experience that guests of the resort as well as homeowners in the upscale Los Cabos Pedregal community get a chance to experience. One night at the resort costs around 1,700 dollars.
Cabo Resorts Took Most Of The Top Spots On The List
Some of the other Cabo resorts that were ranked high on the list may not feature the exclusivity, and privacy that is offered by the Waldorf Astoria. The upside for tourists is that some of the other resorts that made the list are a bit more affordable. The Esperanza Auberge Resorts Collection resort located between Cabo Bello, and the Cabo del Sol golf course came in at number 3 on the list. This resort features arguably equally stunning views for around 1,400 dollars a night in their basic room option.
The Viceroy Los Cabos in San Jose del Cabo made the 4th spot on the list. Travelers that made their way to that resort enjoyed the fact that it is located closer to the main San Jose del Cabo downtown area allowing for more out of resort activities. Also, you can potentially find a room at this resort for around 800 dollars a night, almost half the price of the top two Cabo based options on the list. It’s the most affordable Cabo option to be featured.
More Affordable Options Can Be Found Further Down The List
The next Cabo hotel on the list is The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, which was ranked number 9 out of 25 by Travel and Leisure. Reviewers mentioned that the hospitality exhibited by their personal concierge was exceptional. Accessing this type of luxury treatment for right at 1000 dollars a night on average is certainly not the worst deal in town. Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Los Cabos, was the next Cabo hotel featured. The beachfront resort on Boca del Tule beach is also able to offer premium hospitality services for a similar price that The Cape hotel charges per night.
Brand Names Associated With Luxury Lodging, & Unique Resorts Complete The List
On the 15th spot on the list we find the Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, San José del Cabo. This is another highly exclusive property with butler services that reviewers raved about. Perhaps, it was rated a little lower just because some of the other properties on the list were deemed to have been better located. Scrolling down the list to number 18 readers find Montage Los Cabos.
This is one of the most unique options in Los Cabos, and on the list. Since it features both hotel rooms, and private homes for rent within the confines of the resort. It’s a similar experience to what can be found at Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, which is featured on the 20th spot on the list. The final Cabo resort to make the top 25 was the One&Only Palmilla. What presumably allowed it to make the list was the fact that reviewers loved the food served at all 5 in-house restaurants at the San Jose del Cabo resort.
