Best Time to Visit Los Cabos

The high season is from October to May this is when tourists from the U.S. and Canada escape the freezing winter to enjoy the excellent weather of Los Cabos. The average season runs from June to mid-September. The low season is from July to mid-September. Statistically, from April to June, you can find affordable rates. In addition, most of the time, the days are sunny, and it’s still not so hot.

Best Months to Travel Los Cabos

May and June are ideal for booking a getaway to this beautiful place because the seawater is warm, the hotels and restaurants are not packed, and the days are perfect for enjoying the sun. However, if you want to live the experience of whale watching in the Baja California Peninsula, it is advisable to travel during the months of December to April.

Hurricane season in Los Cabos officially begins on May 15 and runs through the end of September; these are the hottest months, and you’ll get some rain. The good news is that you can find low-cost rates, both in transportation and lodging.

The average high temperatures are between 75 and 95 degrees, while low temperatures range between 55 and 65 degrees. During the year, the average temperature is 78 degrees, but in December and January, it can drop to 42 degrees on the side of the Pacific Ocean. In the summer, the temperature in the Sea of Cortez is 72 degrees, but it can reach 84 degrees.

January

April

Competitors from Mexico and worldwide come to these shores to participate in various off-road races.

May

While May 5 (Cinco de Mayo) is not Mexico’s Independence, it has become a way for Mexican immigrants to connect with their heritage, making it a popular celebration in the United States. Cinco de Mayo 2022 events include cultural shows, traditional Mexican food buffets, and plenty of iced margaritas.

June

The coasts of Baja California are the mecca of surfing and attract travelers from all over the world. In June, everyone heads to the famous Zippers Beach Break de Costa Azul for a friendly competition with a live music festival.

July

No Calendar of Cabo events would be complete without mentioning one of the famous fishing tournaments held at this destination. The 2022 fishing tournament events kick off on July 16 with the East Cape Dorado Shoot Out. Whether you’re competing or just a spectator at the marina, the energy of this tournament is quite exhilarating.

August

The month of August begins with six days of international tennis matches between some of the best players in the world.  

September

In addition to celebrating the patriotic festivities the night before, everyone stays up until midnight to shout “Viva Mexico” and watch the fireworks.

October

Several of Cabo San Lucas’ upcoming events are massive fishing tournaments, but there’s nothing like the Bisbee’s tournament. Their Black & Blue Tournament from October 25-29 is a lively festival, and this competition regularly has the largest cash prizes in the world.

November

The Day of the Dead is an iconic Mexican holiday that honors family and friends who have passed away, preserving their memories and honoring their legacies. Celebrated with bright colors and traditional catrina skeletons, this is a unique cultural experience to live on vacation in Los Cabos.

December

While it won’t be a white Christmas, the holiday season in Los Cabos is festive in its own way. There are many traditional Christmas decorations, such as wreaths and trees, and festive meals are prepared with turkey, salad, sweet desserts, and traditional Mexican favorites.
