Partners For Security
The Los Cabos Hotel Association and the Attorney General’s Office have been working closely together to not only ensure the safety of visitors to Los Cabos but also to ensure that any crimes are properly reported.
They both want to ensure that visitors to Los Cabos have an accurate picture of the safety of the beach resort destination when making the decision of where to vacation in Mexico.
Response To U.S. Government Claims
The Attorney General’s Office is also working closely with the United States Department of State to make sure that the data is properly captured and incorporated into any future traveler warnings issued by the U.S. federal agency.
The travel warnings are an important factor for visitors when deciding international destinations for vacations, and Los Cabos should be properly represented.
The open communication between the two agencies has been able to keep Los Cabos properly listed as a relatively safe vacation destination in Mexico.
The strategy behind the meetings is also to promote the strategic collaboration between the two groups and adequately promote the safety tourists from the United States have when visiting Los Cabos.
Other tourist places have not had the same relationship with the United States Department of State and consequently have lower safety ratings than Los Cabos.
What it Means For Visitors To Los Cabos

This includes items like safeguarding valuables, being aware of surroundings, not putting themselves in the way of danger and taking standard precautions in hotel rooms and other amenities.
According to the United States Department of State, the types of precautions recommended for other destinations in Mexico are not required for Baja California Sur and Los Cabos.
However, visitors should be prepared for any changes to the threat level by enrolling in the United States Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) traveler alert program before leaving for vacation in Los Cabos.
Travelers insurance is also recommended for a safe vacation and peace of mind.
