Los Cabos is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Mexico, the third most popular, in fact.

Although it still trails a bit behind the mega-popular and much bigger destination of Cancun, the tourism numbers in Los Cabos are nothing to shake a stick at.

Los Cabos’ popularity is on the rise, which means flight availability from the United States, its biggest market, is also on the rise.

So it’s no surprise that airlines are adding new flights all the time, and one low-cost U.S. airline, Southwest Airlines, just announced more new flights to Los Cabos.

Southwest’s Newest Los Cabos Flights

In addition to adding a new route to Los Cabos, Southwest Airlines will also restart a number of seasonal routes this fall.

The airline announced a new route between Austin and Los Cabos that will operate on weekends beginning October 5th.

Additionally, weekend flights from Phoenix to Los Cabos will start up again on that date, as well as flights from Sacramento and Kansas City that will be available on Sundays.

Los Cabos International Airport

Los Cabos International Airport is located in San Jose del Cabo, just outside of the town.

From the airport, it takes about 20 minutes to get to San Jose del Cabo’s tourist area and about 40 minutes to get to Cabo San Lucas.

The best way to get from the airport to your hotel is to book your transportation in advance so that you can have them waiting for you when you arrive.
