And now one Los Cabos resort, the Viceroy Los Cabos, has just become the first in Latin America to jump on this new trend.   

So what are NFTs, and how can this new program benefit guests?

NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, as the acronym stands for, are digital assets that can be bought, sold, and traded online.   

NFTs can be a variety of different things, ranging from music to an image of a drawing.   

The most popular form of NFT, though, and the ones being used in this new Viceroy program, are digital art.

Other Companies Using NFTs 

The Viceroy Los Cabos might be the first company in Latin America to use NFTs for membership and loyalty programs, but it is not the first major company to ever use them.   

And the practice is becoming more and more common.   

Companies that have dabbled in the use of NFTs for membership and loyalty programs include Budweiser, Pinkberry, Taco Bell, Starbucks, Burger King, and Louis Vuitton.

The Viceroy Los Cabos NFT Program 

The Viceroy Los Cabos NFT program revolves around a collection of digital assets, or NFTs, that travelers can purchase.   

Purchasing one of these NFTs allows the buyer to become a member of the Digital Art & Dinners Club.   

Buying a piece of art from the collection, called Gioconda, gives purchasers one year of membership.

Benefits Of The Viceroy NFT Program 

Benefits of being a member of the program include gaining access to live monthly events at the Viceroy Los Cabos, as well as live monthly virtual events.   

Members will also receive incentives, special offers, and VIP benefits that can range from complimentary stays to unique dining experiences.   

Viceroy plans to extend this program even further as it grows to include other art, music, and fashion brands.

It’s also located close to town. They have bikes you can borrow. I would forgo their food and eat in town, there are much better restaurants. Also tip, try to get a room on a higher floor for more privacy. The rooms on lower floors arent too pricate with how the building is designed. We rented the 3 bedroom villa which was on a higher floor and had a lot of privacy with a dipping pool. How To Get Viceroy Los Cabos NFTs 

Getting the Viceroy Los Cabos NFTs is as simple as buying them, but so far, they are not listed on their website.   

The program was initially launched, in a test round of sorts, in July of last year, but it’s still unclear as to how to access the NFTs that are for sale.   

But according to reports, there are three different membership levels that can be purchased with various cyber currencies.
