It seems that every year, numbers keep increasing, and 2023 is no exception!

Unlike many other Mexican destinations, Los Cabos was able to quickly get back on track following the disastrous effects on the tourism industry caused by pandemic.

According to an article by Forbes, in 2021 Los Cabos was not only able to recover fully from the pandemic but even managed to welcome more tourists than 2019, with a 15% growth in arrivals passengers from the U.S.

The following year, Los Cabos broke another record, recording a stunning 47.3% increase in the number of US tourists. So, what about 2023? Not surprisingly, numbers keep increasing.

The report published by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico has analyzed data from January 2023 to August 2023 and found a 9.8% increase in international tourists traveling to Los Cabos compared to the same period in 2022.

Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico is a Mexican airport operator handling 12 airports in Mexico’s Pacific region, including Guadalajara, Tijuana, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, La Paz, and Manzanillo.

Authorities believe that in the upcoming months, international tourists will start decreasing due to the end of the summer, while local visitors will keep increasing, especially in September, when Independence Day is celebrated.

This increase in the number of domestic travelers is great news for American travelers, especially for those wanting to get a real taste of Mexico.

In fact, American visitors wanting to visit Los Cabos will find way more locals crowding the beaches of Los Cabos and its most popular sites and will be able to get a more authentic experience from their trip.

Why is Los Cabos so popular?

So, what makes Los Cabos so popular? There are several factors involved. First and foremost, it has high levels of safety.

Unlike several other areas in Mexico, Los Cabos has incredibly low crime rates, meaning that American tourists can safely spend their holidays here without having to worry too much about pickpockets and other scammers.

The same can be said for the whole state of Baja California. Not by chance, this area was recently ranked last in violent crimes compared to the other Mexican states, registering the lowest number of intentional homicides in 2023.

Another reason why more and more tourists are choosing Los Cabos for their holidays is surely the many luxurious amenities present in the area.

Visitors here have the opportunity to choose among restaurants with top-tier service, state-of-the-art spas, and wellness centers, as well as a number of all-inclusive resorts.

This is probably why celebrities such as Simone Biles, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Jamie Foxx, and even Britney Spears were recently spotted vacationing in Los Cabos.

Last but not least, Los Cabos is getting more and more recognition due to the immaculate conditions of its beaches.

This destination is home to 25 blue flag-certified beaches for people to choose from.

Some of these include Medano Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos, Chileno Bay, and Santa Maria, where both international and Mexican visitors alike like to enjoy the highest standards of quality of water and beach cleanliness.
