Veranda Magazine just published its 25 Most Beautiful Beaches in The World list, and the stunning Arch of Cabo San Lucas was included in the ranking.
According to the article, however, it is not only the rock formation in itself that led experts to choose this site, but the ‘spectacular sandy beaches’ surrounding it also played an important role in the final decision.
Known as Lover’s Beach, this scenic stretch of land can only be reached by water taxi and is nestled among two massive rock formations.
But what are some of the main reasons why so many magazines rank Los Cabos among the best beach destinations in the world?
Blue-flag certified beaches
Plenty of places on Earth are renowned for their scenic beaches, but Los Cabos has something more to offer than most places out there.
With 25 blue-flag-certified beaches, the highest number in North America, Los Cabos’ playas are not only breathtaking but also clean and safe!
People heading here won’t have to worry about pollution as the local government constantly monitors the water of its beaches to make sure they maintain high levels of cleanliness.
On top of this, local authorities regularly increase beach safety levels through several initiatives.
For instance, in recent days, more lifeguards have been added to some of the most popular beaches in the area to better protect the many tourists expected to arrive here for both the Spring Break season and the Easter holidays.
But this is not all. Over a month ago, the Los Cabos government decided to start cracking down on street vendors to keep scams to a minimum.
Luxury amenities
Los Cabos is also considered one of the most luxurious destinations in Mexico.
All-inclusive resorts such as the Grand Velas, Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, and Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf And Spa Resort are constantly listed among the best properties in the country by world-renowned publications such as Forbes.
Here, tourists will find a variety of luxury amenities such as state-of-the-art spas and fine-dining venues where world-renowned chefs serve their latest creations.
Los Cabos also offers plenty of luxurious activities for tourists to choose from. Whether you want to relax in an infinity pool facing the breathtaking Sea of Cortez, go horseback riding on the beach, or play a game of golf, Los Cabos is the place to be!
Great marine life
Another reason why so many people choose Los Cabos for their holidays is the vast number of marine animal species that can be spotted here, such as humpback whales, grey whales, and killer whales.
Visitors will also get the chance to swim with whale sharks, watch marine turtle hatching, and familiarize themselves with one of the largest colonies of sea lions in the country.
Those interested in marine life can choose among several different sites. For instance, they can visit Cabo Pulmo National Park.
Often referred to as the ‘Aquarium of the world,’ this natural area is located about 100 km north of Cabo San Lucas. Here, visitors will be able to spot fascinating animals ranging from sea turtles to ospreys, predatory sharks, massive rays, and even humpback whales!
Alternatively, travelers can head to the popular Espiritu Santo Island, located in the La Paz municipality, known for being home to one of the largest colonies of sea lions in Mexico.
Water sports
Lastly, Los Cabos is a great place for those wanting to scale up their water sports skills. Not by chance; this is one of the few places on Earth where people can surf all year round.
The Sea of Cortez has ideal surfing conditions from May to October, while the Pacific Ocean is characterised by perfect swells from October to May.
Tourists here will also be able to try out other water sports, such as parasailing, kayaking, or snorkeling.
