If you ask anyone who has ever visited Los Cabos they’ll tell you that the popular vacation destination has beautiful beaches, incredible scenery, amazing luxury all-inclusive resorts, and plenty of opportunities for adventure.

But while all that is undoubtedly true, Los Cabos is more than just a fantastic vacation destination, and nobody can explain that better than a local.

And the locals say that there are 7 things you have to try when visiting Los Cabos.

Take A Land’s End Sunset Cruise

Land’s End and the famous Arch Of Cabo San Lucas is the most iconic sight in Los Cabos, and the best time to see them is when the sun is going down, according to locals.

While you can easily see it from the shore of San Lucas Bay, Medano Beach, or a number of restaurants along the coast, it’s even more awe-inspiring when you see it up close.

There are numerous boat tour options available, ranging in price from about $60-$129, that will take you on a sunset cruise past these incredible rock formations.

Visit San Jose Del Cabo During The Art Walk

San Jose del Cabo is the more authentic and charming of the two Cabos and is worth a visit anyway, but if you can visit during the Art Walk, locals suggest doing it.

The Art Walk San Jose del Cabo takes place on Thursday evenings from November through June.

Throughout the historic town’s gallery district and city center, local artists display their works for visitors to see as they wander through the cobblestone streets of this charming town.

Take A Local Cooking Class

Just as they say that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, the best way to get to know a destination is through its food.

And what better way to truly experience the regional cuisine than to participate in preparing a meal like a local yourself?

There are numerous cooking classes that can be taken to do just that.

Two popular farm-to-table cooking experiences, where you’ll get to harvest your own produce to prepare the meal, are Tamarindos and Monte Cardon.

Heal The Mind, Body, And Soul With A Temazcal Ceremony

Many travelers visit Los Cabos for a wellness vacation, and the destination has a lot to offer for those looking to heal the mind, body, and soul.

One way to do that is through a ritual practiced by locals for centuries called a temazcal ceremony.

Similar to a sweat lodge, a temazcal ceremony, which incorporates local herbs into the lodge experience, is said to provide many health and spiritual benefits.

Experience Farm-To-Table Dining

The farm-to-table dining trend has arrived in Los Cabos and is quickly gaining traction, with numerous restaurants popping up already.

Flora Farms, Tamarindos, and Acre are the most popular in Los Cabos, but other restaurants offer farm-to-table dining experiences too.

The Outpost, right in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, has its own microgreens gardens onsite, El Huerto Farm-To-Table prepares dishes with ingredients from its own farm, and Metate Cabo is an authentic Mexican restaurant offering a farm-to-table dining experience.

When in Rome they say… Or in this case, when in Los Cabos, and when you are, locals say attending a tequila or mezcal tasting is a must.

Fortunately, there are plenty of places to taste these most popular spirits, as well as others.

You can book a tasting experience tour, or you can go it alone at one of the area’s popular venues, like Espiritu de Agave, the Tequila Boutique, or the Agave Study at Waldorf Astoria.
