Why More American Travelers Are Visiting Los Cabos Than Ever Before

Numbers don’t lie, and the numbers show that Los Cabos has been significantly growing in popularity over the last few years, especially among international tourists.   

Between January and November of 2023, Los Cabos welcomed nearly 2.1 million international tourists at its Los Cabos International Airport.   

This is an increase of almost 7 percent compared to the same months in the year before, and most of those international tourists hail from the U.S.   

There are several reasons for this and why more American travelers are visiting Los Cabos than ever before.   

More Direct Flights Than Ever Before 

Getting to Los Cabos from the United States has never been easier.   

Seven airlines provide direct flights to Los Cabos International Airport.   

Currently, those nonstop flights are available from 28 different U.S. cities.   

While some are only offered seasonally, there is still great year-round connectivity between the U.S. and Los Cabos.

A Growing Culinary Scene 

While you might want to enjoy the timeless classic that is street food when you visit Los Cabos, you’ll have no trouble finding something for your more discerning tastes as well.   

There are some fantastic restaurants in both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.   

Some of these restaurants might even make it into the Michelin Guide this year.   

Even some of the luxury all-inclusives in Los Cabos have prestigious chef-run restaurants, so you can expect to eat well while visiting the destination.

More Luxury Hotels Than Ever Before 

There is no shortage of luxury hotels in Los Cabos, but that isn’t stopping luxury brands from opening even more amazing properties.   

This year alone at least three new luxury hotels will be opening in Los Cabos.   

The Park Hyatt Los Cabos, Soho House, and the Aman Hotel are all on schedule to be completed this year.

More Security Than Ever Before 

Los Cabos is currently one of the safest destinations to visit in Mexico.   

The U.S. State Department currently has no restrictions on traveling to the destination.
