Travelers Encouraged To Book Early As Los Cabos Is Growing Faster Than Ever

It’s no secret that Los Cabos is rapidly growing in popularity, but what does come as a bit of a surprise is just how well the destination is keeping up with tourist demand.   

Last year was a historic year for Los Cabos, with an increase in the arrival of tourists coming in at around 25 percent, which equates to 3.5 million visitors.   

Fortunately, there are nearly 20,000 hotel rooms available in the vacation destination, but travelers are still encouraged to book vacations early, as Los Cabos is growing faster than ever.   

Los Cabos’ 2023 Growth So Far 

Just during the first three months of this year, Los Cabos welcomed nearly 700,000 visitors.   

By May, more than a million international tourists had already arrived at Los Cabos Airport.   

While the period between May and October is not the busiest time of year, the end-of-the-year high season is sure to bring in hundreds of thousands more tourists.

What To Expect For The Remainder Of The Year 

Projections are that by the end of the year, the tourist destination will have hosted at least 500,000 more tourists than in 2022.   

In 2022, more than 3.5 million travelers visited Los Cabos.   

So, by the end of the year, it’s very likely that more than 4 million travelers will have visited this enormously popular vacation destination.

Current Hotel Capacity In Los Cabos 

It might seem that those exponentially increasing tourist numbers might be hard to keep up with in terms of hotel capacity, but Los Cabos has a lot of hotels.   

Currently, there are more than 18,000 hotel rooms available between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.   

These rooms are divided between nearly 100 hotels and resorts, many of which are luxury all-inclusives.

Los Cabos Hotels In The Works 

A number of new hotels have been opened in Los Cabos already this year, and another 200 rooms are expected to be added to the destination’s offerings.   

A portion of these rooms will be located within the much-anticipated Grand Velas boutique hotel that is set to open in November.   

Next year, the opening of three more resorts is expected: the Park Hyatt Los Cabos, Amanvari, and Soho House Beach Club.

How Los Cabos Air Traffic Demands Are Being Met 

Hotels are not the only demand being kept up with in Los Cabos.   

Airlines are keeping up with demand, too, by adding routes and increasing route frequencies from both the United States and Canada.   

Currently, travelers can fly directly to Los Cabos from 28 U.S. cities and 10 Canadian cities.   

When To Visit Los Cabos  

The best time to visit Los Cabos is really a matter of preference, but the quietest and most budget-friendly time to visit is during the fall months, and the weather is also perfect during this time of year as well.   

If you like to party, the spring is the best time to visit, but the winter months are some of the busiest because travelers from the north vacation during the winter to escape the cold.   

The summertime is right in between in terms of being busy, but summers can get pretty hot. But it is a beach destination, so that may not be a bad thing.   

Best Time To Book A Los Cabos Vacation 

Booking your Los Cabos vacation early is the key to getting the resort, flights, and rates you want.   

For flights, you’ll want to book at least 3-6 months in advance.   

For hotels, you can save money by booking last minute, about 14 days out.   

But traveling internationally during the busy season, you’ll be taking a risk, so 1-2 months might be a safer bet to get the resort you want for your Los Cabos vacation.
