Los Cabos is one of the most popular spring break vacation destinations in Mexico and even in the world as a whole.
Not surprisingly, because it is a luxury vacation destination, it’s also one of the priciest places in the country in which to spend your spring break, as much as 20 percent more than Cancun.
There are things you can do to make your trip a little bit cheaper, though.
So here are the top 7 ways to save as Los Cabos officially becomes Mexico’s most expensive spring break destination.
Book An All-Inclusive
You might be looking at all-inclusives for your spring break vacation and comparing them to traditional hotels thinking that they’re more expensive.
Typically, they do go for a higher rate, but you get a lot for your buck, especially when it comes to dining and drinking, which are some of your highest vacation costs.
Most Los Cabos all-inclusives have multiple dining options to choose from, several bars and lounges, and even 24-hour in-room dining, and they also offer entertainment and activities, all included in the nightly room rate.

Schedule Transfers In Advance
Another way to save some money that you might not even realize can save you money is booking your transfers in advance.
Particularly, your transfers between your hotel and the airport can be pretty pricey, especially if you’re staying in Cabo San Lucas, which is the farthest area from the airport.
This trip can cost as much as $80 each way.
Additionally, if you book roundtrip, rather than booking your trips individually, you’ll often get a better rate, sometimes saving as much as $40-$50 on roundtrip transportation.

Once you exit from immigration at the airport, you’ll be directed to the taxi stations to purchase a one way ticket to your hotel with a shared shuttle. I prepaid for my ride online ($18) and presented my confirmation email. It was well organized and I was promptly met by the next available driver that led me to the shuttle. The shuttle van was clean, safe and modern. I consider this the scenic option, because depending on the location of your hotel and number of stops, it does take a bit longer than hiring a private transfer. Nevertheless, I had nowhere else to be and enjoyed the views along the way. How do you feel about riding around with strangers? Stay Close To Where You’ll Be Spending Your Time
You can’t avoid having to get a transfer from the airport to your hotel, or vice versa, but you can minimize how much you travel around during your trip.
If you stay close to where you’ll be spending most of your time you’ll be able to get to many places by foot, or at the very least by public bus, which is much cheaper than anything else.
If you’re visiting for spring break, you’ll likely be spending most of your time between Medano Beach, the marina, and downtown which is easy to get around without having to book a taxi or other form of transportation.

Look Into Packages
Packages can vary from one travel company to the next, but it’s worth looking into a few to see if it can save you some money.
Most airlines offer package options, and some will provide discounts if you book your flight and hotel together.
Additionally, several travel companies offer packages specifically for spring break in Los Cabos that could offer some savings too.

Find Free Or Cheap Attractions And Activities
When you’re not spending your time partying at Los Cabos’ awesome bars and nightclubs, you’re going to want to find things to do.
This is the time to take advantage of free, or almost free, attractions and activities.
Visiting the beaches, strolling around the marina, and taking a walk through the Wirikuta Botanical Garden are all completely free, and for the low price of $12, you can even take a water taxi to see the famous arch.

Share Accommodations
Since you’ll likely be traveling with friends for your Los Cabos spring break vacation it makes sense to share accommodations.
While your hotel might charge an extra fee for additional guests, the overall per-person rate is still often lower when sharing a hotel room.
Airbnbs are also a good money-saving option for groups staying together, but if you go this route, make sure you’re choosing one in an area you want to be in.

Set A Budget
Setting a budget is the most important step that you can take to avoid overspending on your Los Cabos spring break trip.
The second, and more difficult step, is sticking to it.
Be realistic, know what you can afford, make a list of the things you want to do, and decide how much you’re going to spend before your Los Cabos vacation begins and it will help you avoid overspending.
