The Sundream festival, headlined by Australian group Rufus Du Sol, has picked Los Cabos as their new venue for an event to be held in the first quarter of 2023. The popular indie and electronic music festival is set to be held near the Los Cabos Marina from the 4th to the 7th of May, 2023. This isn’t the first time the festival has called Mexico home, as the event was held last year in Tulum.
Due to the success of that particular event, they decided to pick Cabo San Lucas as their next destination. There are certainly major differences between Tulum and Los Cabos, and that’s something that the event organizers have taken into account to ensure that the Los Cabos festival can be as successful as the one in Tulum.
Rufus Du Sol is going to be accompanied by more than 12 different bands or artists throughout the 4-day experience. DJ Tennis, Michel Bibi, Monolik, and Luke Alessi, are just some of the artists that have already confirmed their presence in Los Cabos for the early days of May.

Crania Los Cabos Is Going To Be The Festival’s Main Venue
Crania Los Cabos, which is a Restaurant/ Club/ Airbnb campsite, is the spot that will serve as the festival’s main venue. In fact, on Crania Los Cabos’ link tree account, there’s already a direct link to the waiting list for passes to attend the event. Three-day passes for the festival are starting out at $555. It’s recommended that people who want to attend get on the waiting list as soon as possible so they can access that particular price, which will probably be the lowest that these tickets will go for.
Festival Package
Package deals are also being sold that include lodging at some of the most popular Cabo resorts and tickets to the music festival. These packages are selling out fast. The travel packages include nightly stays at Paradisus Los Cabos and Secrets Puerto Los Cabos resorts, the latter of which had already sold out at the time of writing this piece. Stays at the Crania campsite, which are usually available to book over Airbnb, are also already sold out for these dates. It’s not entirely clear, though, if they were ever made available.
We mentioned that there are certain unique laws and requirements that will make the Los Cabos Sundream Festival a bit different from the event that took place in Tulum. For one, it’s not possible for people to camp out at Los Cabos beaches. You have to get a special permit from authorities to camp out on Cabo beaches.
Even if you go through that rough route that includes having to visit government offices in La Paz there are some spots where it’s completely forbidden to camp out. Also, there are strict rules when it comes to how loud music can be at different spots throughout Los Cabos. To essentially circumvent some of these issues, which could make hosting this type of event difficult, organizers will be taking part of the event to different “gardens” near the Los Cabos marina property of the El Ganzo Beach Club.
Really A 3-Day Event With Recovery Planned For The 4th Day
The 3-day passes for which there is currently a waiting list will also grant you access to the 4th day of festivities. This is meant to be an event of “recovery and relaxation” at El Ganzo Beach Club. There’s not a lot of information available at this moment in regard to what exactly will be taking place on the last day of the festivities. For people currently in Los Cabos who want to experience a perhaps similar event, Crania Los Cabos will be holding a New Year’s party. Tickets for that event are currently available through their Airbnb profile.
