Incredible all-inclusives, diverse nature, luxury experiences, and, more than anything else, the beaches are what make Los Cabos the extremely popular vacation destination that it is.
Spread out along the stunning coast, there are 20-plus beautiful beaches, each a little bit unique compared to the next.
Out of all of these beaches, there are three that are loved by tourists the most: Santa Maria Beach, Chileno Beach, and Medano Beach.
These are the top 3 Los Cabos beaches according to travelers.
Santa Maria Beach
Santa Maria Beach is situated along the beautiful stretch of the Tourist Corridor that separates Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.
The attraction of Santa Maria Beach is the cove-like setting and calm, shallow clear water that is perfect for snorkeling and swimming.
The location of the beach means that you’ll have to rent a car, book a tour, or hire transportation to get there if you’re not staying in one of the nearby hotels, but it’s well worth the effort to get there.

Chileno Beach
Only just over a mile from Santa Maria Beach is Chileno Beach, known for its laid-back atmosphere.
Chileno Beach is one of the best swimmable beaches and is also great for snorkeling and diving due to its clear, calm water.
The beach also has several amenities, like showers, and restrooms, so you can easily spend an entire day there, and lifeguards are typically present as well, so it’s a great beach for families.

Medano Beach
Located in Cabo San Lucas in the prime location near the marina and with views of Land’s End and the famous Arch, Medano Beach is perhaps the favorite of all among travelers visiting Los Cabos.
Not only is it the best swimmable beach in Los Cabos, but the most energetic and exciting as well.
All along this stunning beach, you’ll find beach clubs, restaurants, cantinas, and plenty of water sports rentals for a fun-filled day in the Cabo sun.

Preparing For A Beach Day In Los Cabos
Los Cabos gets approximately 350 days of beautiful sunshine a year, so preparing for a safe beach day is essential.
Sunscreen is a must, and it’s great if you can find reef-safe sunscreen.
A sun hat and clothing to cover up are helpful too.
Most importantly, though, due to the dry desert climate and hot sun, is plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Los Cabos Beach Safety
If you’ve ever been to Los Cabos or know someone who has, then you might already know that not all of the beaches in the destination are suitable for swimming.
This is why it’s important to keep an eye out for beach warning flags when visiting any Los Cabos beach.
If you see a yellow flag, you should be cautious when swimming in the water, and if there’s a red or black flag present, you’ll want to not enter the water at all.

Where To Stay In Los Cabos If You Want The Best Beach Experience
While Los Cabos has many beaches, Medano Beach is where all of the action is.
This is where you can rent small watercraft like kayaks and paddle boards, book boat tours, visit beach clubs, and so much more.
If this is the kind of experience you’re looking for, then the Medano Beach area in Cabo San Lucas is the best area, and best beach, for you.
