Share The Article

If you’ve ever been to Cabo San Lucas, then you already know, and if you haven’t been but have heard other travelers talk about it, then you have likely heard that Medano is the most popular beach in Cabo.

Red Flag and Tourists on Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

This can be both a good and a bad thing when staying at a resort right on the extremely popular beach, depending on your perspective.

To help you decide, we’ll share a list of the pros and cons of staying on Medano Beach during your Cabo vacation.

Pro # 1 – Easy Access To Everything Cabo San Lucas Has To Offer

One thing that can be said about staying at an all-inclusive resort right on Medano Beach is that you will have access to everything.

The marina, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and many attractions are only a short taxi or Uber ride away.

And there are many things that are even close enough to walk to from the Medano Beach area.

Pro # 2 – Medano Beach Is Los Cabos’ Most Popular Beach

Another thing to consider is that Medano Beach is extremely popular, arguably the most popular beach in Los Cabos.

For this reason, this is where you will find the most entertainment options.

You won’t have to look very far for beachfront cantinas, restaurants, beach clubs, kayak and paddleboard rentals, and more, which can be found up and down Medano Beach.

Pro # 3 – Medano Beach Is One Of Cabo’s Most Swimmable Beaches

One thing many people don’t realize about Los Cabos is that not all of the beaches are swimmable due to unpredictable currents and strong waves.

Medano Beach, though, is one of Cabo’s most swimmable beaches, with calmer waters that don’t pose such a threat to beachgoers.

So if spending some time in the water in Los Cabos is something that’s on your bucket list, then staying right on Medano Beach is definitely a bonus.

Con #1 – Resorts On Medano Beach Are Not As Peaceful

If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing kind of vacation, then an all-inclusive resort right on Medano Beach may not be the best choice.

The area is known for its party scene, and it can get pretty loud in that area, despite the fact that the resorts are set back from the beach a little.

For a more peaceful vacation, San Jose del Cabo or the Tourist Corridor that runs between the two cities may be a better option.

Con # 2 – Medano Beach Is Always Packed With Tourists

Another thing to consider that may be a con for many travelers is the fact that Medano Beach is always packed with tourists.

It’s not the place to go if you’re looking to spend a quiet, peaceful day reading a book and napping at the beach.

Santa Maria Beach or Chileno Beach would be better options for a more peaceful Los Cabos beach experience.

Con # 3 – Resorts On Medano Beach May Be More Expensive

Due to the fact that the Medano Beach area is so popular and so convenient, it’s quite possible that you will pay more for your resort accommodations in this area too.

Of course, all-inclusive resort pricing largely depends on the season, so if you’re going off-season, you might be able to land a deal.

But during the busy season, there’s a good chance you’ll pay more for a resort right on Medano Beach.

Los Cabos is made up of three distinct and unique areas, San Jose del Cabo, the Tourist Corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, and Cabo San Lucas, which is where Medano Beach is located.

Which area you choose to spend your Los Cabos vacation largely depends on what you want out of your vacation, so be sure to choose wisely so that you get exactly what you’re looking for.
