But what are the most popular U.S. airlines now flying to this dream destination?
American Airlines and United Airlines
American Airlines and United Airlines are the two main U.S. companies leading the international market to and from Mexico right now.
Together, they managed to transport a total of 1.214 million passengers from the USA to this country in January 2024.
This is equivalent to an impressive 53.8% increase compared to the same period in 2019.
In particular, American Airlines offers plenty of flights to Los Cabos Airport from a number of US cities, including Phoenix, Dallas Worth Forth, and Los Angeles.
American Airlines has several non-stop flights to this destination and is considered one of the most successful companies in the USA.
United Airlines also offers plenty of direct flights to Los Cabos International Airport from a variety of US cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Denver.
Together with American Airlines, this is considered by most one of the most successful airline companies in the USA.
A few other airlines
However, U.S. airlines are not the only ones offering great flights from the USA to Mexico.
Aeroméxico and Volaris also have plenty of routes connecting these two countries.
On top of these, other American Airlines such as Southwest, Alaska Airlines, and Delta Airlines, have plenty of flights to Los Cabos International Airport.
In this regard, it is worth mentioning that Southwest has recently announced new routes to this popular destination. These will connect the cities of Austin, Phoenix, Sacrament, and Kansas City to this Mexican municipality.
Unfortunately, however, tourists will have to wait a few extra months to make the most out of these new deals as the new routes will start operating in the fall.
Everything you need to know when booking a Los Cabos flight
Flights to Los Cabos can be quite expensive. Luckily, there are a few tricks you can use to save some bucks.
First of all, you should try to avoid booking on weekend days such as Friday and Sunday. These tend to be more expensive as most people fly on these days to make the most out of the weekend.
If you work as an entrepreneur and don’t have a preference in terms of days, opt for Tuesdays or Thursdays, when flights tend to cost less.
Another great tip is to book during the low season, lasting from July to September. Despite what most people believe, Los Cabos offers plenty of activities for tourists all year round.
Plus, booking during the low season also means dealing with fewer tourists on your trip and finding cheaper accommodation options.
You should also keep in mind that some companies offer massive discounts if you decide to book both your flights and accommodation with them. Lastly, opting for a return ticket rather than a one-way one can help you save extra money.
From where to fly
Plenty of different U.S. cities now offer direct flights to Los Cabos. Among these are Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth in Texas, St. Louis and Chicago in Illinois, Santa Ana, Los Angeles, and San Diego in California, as well as other major US metropolises, such as New York City, Minneapolis, Detroit, Atlanta, and Kansas City, just to mention a few.
Despite this, it’s important to keep in mind that not all these airports offer direct flights to Los Cabos all year round.
Some airlines, in fact, only sell direct routes during the busiest times of the year, for instance, during high season, between December and February, or during holiday periods, such as spring break, which this year is going to take place throughout the month of March.
