Two different types of stars were awarded. They were the traditional Michelin Stars and a special green star designation for culinary excellence with a focus on sustainability.

While the regions of Nuevo Leon, Baja California, Mexico City and Quintana Roo took the bulk of the honors, three restaurants in Baja California Sur received the high distinction.

Cocina de Autor Los Cabos

The only restaurant in Los Cabos receiving a traditional Michelin Star for culinary excellence is Chef Sidney Schutte’s Cocina de Autor Los Cabos inside of the Grand Velas resort.

Guests at the restaurant can enjoy a traditional eight or ten-course dining experience with an optional wine pairing in the “author’s kitchen” at the restaurant.
