Usually, if you want to do yoga in Los Cabos, you have two choices: squeeze into a crowded hotel gym or pay $50+ for a “wellness session” on a resort lawn.
(Unless, of course, your resort offers classes for free)
But a new spot just opened in San José del Cabo that is bridging the gap between high-end luxury and local accessibility.
Ananda Los Cabos officially opened its doors this week in the Animas Bajas district (just down the road from Flora Farms and Acre). It is a massive, 4,000-square-foot sanctuary that looks like a 5-star resort amenity, but the drop-in price is shockingly reasonable.
Here is why this is the new go-to spot for travelers who want to stretch out the flight stiffness without breaking the bank.

The Space: “Earthy Luxury”
Most yoga studios in Cabo are converted retail spaces or spare rooms. Ananda is different because it was a ground-up construction project designed specifically as a “Yoga Shala.”
The owner, Molly Heilmann, spent 18 months building it. The result is a stunning deck featuring reclaimed raw wood, floor-to-ceiling windows, and views of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. It feels expensive, but the vibe is intentionally unpretentious.
Heilmann built the studio on the philosophy of the “Elephant Tribe”—referencing how female elephants protect and support the herd. In practical terms for tourists, this means the “cool kid” exclusivity you find at some wellness spots is non-existent here. It is designed to be welcoming to drop-ins.

The Price: $22 vs. The Resort Rate
This is the headline for most travelers.
- Resort Classes: Typically $40 – $60 USD.
- Ananda Drop-In: $450 MXN (approx. $22 USD).
You are getting a superior facility—with specialized classes like Vinyasa, Yin, and Sound Healing—for half the price of a hotel session.

The Tech: No “WhatsApp Tag”
One of the biggest frustrations in Baja is trying to book things. Usually, you have to send a WhatsApp message and wait for a reply.
Ananda launched with a fully integrated mobile app. You can download it, see the schedule, and book your mat instantly. For a traveler trying to plan a morning around a brunch reservation, this friction-free booking is a huge win.
