Staying at a Cabo All-Inclusive? You Still Need These 4 Apps on Your Phone!

Share The Article

Are you checked in to paradise but still staring at your home screen?

We at The Cabo Sun have learned the hard way that even the most all-inclusive resorts in Los Cabos leave a few gaps, so before you swap your suitcase for a pool float, let us share the 4 apps that turned our last getaway from good to downright effortless!

1. Your Resort’s Official App

When we first visited Pueblo Bonito, we thought the front-desk hustle was part of the fun—until we discovered their app and never looked back. Nearly every all-inclusive in Baja Sur (think Grand Velas, Hyatt Ziva, Pueblo Bonito) offers a free branded app—download it on arrival or, better yet, pre-install it at home.

Before you even unzip your suitcase, fire it up and sign in:

  • Room service & dining reservations: We once ordered tacos and ceviche straight to our dune-chair at 3 PM—no lobby trek required.
  • Real-time concierge chat: Curious about snorkeling gear or last-minute spa openings? A quick ping, and someone’s on it.
  • On-resort maps & schedules: From sunset yoga by the pool to tequila-tasting pop-ups, we never missed a beat.

Pro tip from our last stay: Some apps flash one-time coupons for spa treatments or bartending masterclasses—keep an eye on notifications for surprise perks.

2. Uber & Rideshares for Beyond-Resort Adventures

We love our resort bubble, but Los Cabos is a playground begging to be explored.

Download Uber before stepping off property—trust us, comparing fares saved us a bundle en route to El Arco and back.

  • Uber: Reliable from your hotel to Médano Beach; prices show in dollars or pesos.
  • Built-in tip calculators: We aim for 10–15 percent, and these in-app tools take the guesswork out of tipping under the Baja sun.

Our golden rule: Snap a photo of the driver’s plate before you hop in, then share your trip link on WhatsApp so friends know you’re en route.

3. Rappi for On-Demand Anything

When you’re nestled under your beach umbrella and don’t want to stray from poolside, Rappi shines—no, not for outside restaurant delivery (you’re at an all-inclusive after all!), but for life’s little “oops” moments and unexpected cravings inside your resort.

  • Pharmacy & wellness: Forgot your favorite sunburn gel, headache meds, or a mini-first-aid kit? Rappi will zip it over so you stay covered.
  • Groceries & sundries: Running low on bottled water, snacks, or that perfect bottle of Baja wine? Order from local OXXO or specialty shops without leaving your lounger.
  • Gift delivery: Need a last-minute birthday surprise or congratulatory flowers for your travel buddy? Choose from local florists and gift boutiques.
  • Errand runner: Need cash? Rappi can pick up pesos for you. Need printer paper for your digital-nomad setup? They’ve got your back.

Tip from the team: Link your credit card ahead of time, then slide in a 10–15 percent tip. Happy drivers = happy you.

4. WhatsApp for Instant Communication

If you’ve ever yelled “Where are you?!” across the beach, you’ll appreciate WhatsApp as much as we do. Whether we’re rallying our crew or tapping into local insider groups, this app keeps us connected—no roaming fees involved.

  • Group chats: Coordinate pool-time cocktails or dinner reservations in real time (“We’ll meet at the beachfront palapa at 6!”).
  • Location sharing: Pinpoint your spot on Médano Beach or the marina so no one gets left behind.
  • Voice notes & quick calls: Instead of typing under the sun, send a 10-second clip: “Bring sunscreen!” Problem solved.
  • Expat & nomad groups: We’ve joined local WhatsApp communities to score tips on secret surf breaks, pop-up art shows and off-menu mezcal.
  • Document forwarding: Got spa vouchers, e-tickets or wine-list PDFs? Share them instantly with friends—or even your resort’s front desk.

Insiders tip: Some resorts run official WhatsApp broadcasts for daily happy-hour specials and shuttle schedules. Ask your concierge!
