A conglomerate of Hollywood A-listers, including Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, and Woody Harrelson, have been spotted in Los Cabos in recent days. Cabo is certainly a destination that is frequented by celebrities, but it’s odd to find so many in the beach city all at once. Local reports indicate that perhaps the reason why so many celebs have made their way to the Mexican Pacific is because Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is going to be hosting a 60th birthday bash in Cabo.
Maybe Flea Is Going To Be Celebrating Throughout The Entire Month
Flea turns 60 on October 16th, the Cabo gateway that took place a couple of days ago, which included the star-studded guest list, may have been a pre-birthday celebration. The Peppers have been Cabo regulars for years now. They’ve been known to use the Cabo Wabo cantina as their base of operations while in Los Cabos.
Recently even drummer Chad Smith’s home (or former home depending on who you ask) was put up for rent on Airbnb. A clear sign of the connection between the band and the Mexican beach city. By the way, Smith was not pictured alongside the different celebs at the event. Which included two of his bandmates.
Flea and bandmate Antony Kiedis were caught by paparazzi taking in the Cabo sun. Both men showed that they are still in great shape coming into their 60s. Flea is getting ready to be a dad pretty soon his pregnant wife, Melody Ehsani, is also pictured alongside him. Kiedis turns 60 basically 2 weeks after Flea at the beginning of November.
In a surreal scene, Matthew McConaughey can be spotted taking in the view of the Cabo sea while sipping on a cup of coffee in the background. If you look even further into the background, you can find Chris Rock in board shorts. The group had balloons and everything set up for the occasion, which, as we mentioned, was an early birthday party for the Peppers’ duo. The event took place in a high-end Cabo villa.
A Family Occasion
It wasn’t just a guys’ outing to celebrate Flea; many of the guys’ significant others were also in attendance. Chris Rock’s girlfriend, Lake Bell, was spotted on the beach chairs that overlooked both the pool and the basketball court. Her calm demeanor as she gazed out onto the horizon contrasted completely with the competitive basketball game that was taking place just a few feet away from her.
Flea and Woody Harrelson are going all out in a 1 on 1 basketball game in the background. The entire scene goes to show that celebrities enjoy some pretty normal activities. After the heated basketball contest came to a conclusion, Matthew McConaughey’s wife, Camila Alves, also came down to spend some time on the beach chairs, taking in the sun with Bell.
Are Any Of These Stars Still Out In Cabo?
Matthew McConaughey was potentially on a tight schedule, but he was able to sneak in the Cabo getaway to celebrate his pal flea. The Dallas Buyers Club star was, of course, in attendance in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl to see his beloved Texas Longhorns embarrass rival Oklahoma.
For his part, Flea took to Instagram stories to post a picture of his car parked outside a soccer field with his guitar on top. There’s a chance that he’s still in Cabo. As we mentioned, the Peppers’ have certainly been known as Cabo regulars. The star-studded event was maybe the family version of Flea’s 60th birthday celebration. With a bit of a more adult-themed party planned for the weekend of the 16th.
