Riu resorts finished the renovation of their El Medano beach property, Riu Santa Fe, just in time for the end-of-the-year celebrations. Riu hotels have put a lot of effort and money into this particular property. The 2022 renovation that was just finished comes off the back of another major renovation on the same property that was completed in 2018.

The resort features 1288 total rooms, most of which were fully renovated in the newest upgrade that the hotel received. Only those rooms built in the aforementioned 2018 expansion were not renovated this time around. Wooden furniture sets were added to all of the renovated rooms, as well as blue decor. Since the resort is so large, it even features an area that is themed to look like an old Mexican village.

Adding Restaurants To The Resort’s Line-Up

Besides renovations to the resort’s rooms, a major upgrade will be the inclusion of new restaurants at the hotel. As a 24-hour all-inclusive facility, part of the appeal of this particular resort is its food availability. Riu Santa Fe will feature a Kulinarium restaurant which is a Caribbean cuisine dining option that is already offered at different Riu locations. Tiki Taco and Pepe’s Foods will continue to serve as the resort’s on-the-go food options. Presumably, the popularity of the original Pepe’s Foods location at the resort has prompted Riu to open a second location. Tiki Taco will also continue operating at its current 2 locations at the resort.

The main buffet restaurant, known as the Baja California, will remain open, as well as some of the other fine dining facilities that were available at the resort. With restaurants offering Italian, Asian, and Mexican fine dining options still available. An on-resort steakhouse is also going to continue operating as the resort reopens its doors.

The Resort Features 13 Bars On Property

One of the benefits of an All-Inclusive resort is that you don’t necessarily need to be near a bar to be able to grab a drink. Still, for hotel guests that like the experience of being in a sports bar or a swim-up bar, there are 13 different options to choose from. Riu Santa Fe actually offers a sports bar that’s open 24 hours a day. With a total of 4 swim-up bars in the different pool areas. One of these bars, known as Mezcalito, is the most recent addition to the bar lineup at the resort.

The Riu Santa Fe features a water park area that is typically aimed at kids. However, there’s still a bar right next to the water park for older hotel guests to be able to take full advantage of the all-inclusive package that they purchased.

Riu Pool Parties Are Back In Full Swing

The 13 bars on the property include a couple that are exclusively open in the pool area when the famous Riu pool parties are taking place. These parties tend to take place near the pool area about four times a week. For these parties, the resort opens up extra bars that are closer to the spots where the parties are going to be taking place.

The parties are a main staple of Riu properties and have been held at Riu Santa Fe since 2018. They took a bit of a forced hiatus due to COVID. Currently, though, the famous parties that are set up by the Pacha entertainment group, which owns and operates famous nightclubs all over Mexico, are taking place regularly as the resort reopens.
