We all know TripAdvisor provides valuable insight for types of travelers. As winter slowly winds down with Spring Break peaking around the corner, the popular site compiled a list catered to all kinds of travelers this spring.
To no surprise, Los Cabos, in particular Cabo San Lucas, was named among the best for Spring Break this year.
Cabo is suited for everyone, but Spring Break tends to bring on a whole new vibe with both college students and kids of all ages out for an extended break.
While it’s certainly fine to bring the whole fam, it’s the college crowd flocking to Cabo in March year after year.
Time To Let Loose
Baja’s southernmost tip becomes party central throughout the beginning of spring as many young travelers head to the beach to enjoy time away from class.
Ready to let loose, travel budgets tend to go by the wayside. What are some extra hundies on top of your never-ending student loans?
The latest reports are showing a decline in nightlife this time of year in Cabo, but businesses aren’t too concerned since the spring season makes up for it and then some.
Crowds pack in every bar and turn the beach into an all-out festival of music, games and grown-up shenanigans.
Cabo’s popular yet slower-paced tequila tastings are passed up for margaritas and shots where Spring Breakers will all but surely need to find one of Cabo’s pristine beaches for some recovery time.
Oh, to be young again…
‘Classic’ Spring Break
Cabo San Lucas is definitely the place to be to let loose, but all of Cabo is still perfectly suitable for a relaxing trip any time of year.
Certain beaches and bars may be packed with your typical Spring Breaker, but given the size of this region with miles of gorgeous coastline, travelers seeking pure bliss and relaxation can still find their spot.
The luxurious and wellness aspect doesn’t magically disappear just because fist-pumping college kids take over.
TripAdvisor chose Cabo for their ‘Classic’ Spring Break destination for parties, but it’s a classic getaway for all types of vacationers.
Whether you’re in need of a couples getaway or family vacation, there are many resorts to choose from with a handful offering the seclusion you’re seeking for a quieter beach vacay.
If your travel budget is a concern, there are still deals to score with at least 3 resorts under $300 per night while others have been soaring in price averaging $550 nightly this high season.
What Is Spring Like In Cabo?
There is a reason Cabo is a draw all year long. One key reason being the phenomenal weather, which draws in millions of tourists each year with even more expected in 2024.
Vacationers never have to worry too much about the weather except to cross their fingers during hurricane season, which has caused some heavy damage in recent months.
Beyond these storms reported in advance, travelers can expect plentiful sunshine year-round. In spring, temperatures tend to hover in the low 80s during the day, with cool nights to enjoy restaurant patios and walks along some of the best beaches in Mexico.
Where Cabo Stacks Up For Spring Break Getaways
Cabo San Lucas was only one of a pair of destinations within Mexico to make TripAdvisor’s most recent top 12 list for Spring Break destinations.
Oddly enough, it was the only Mexico beach destination to make the cut while sharing the list with another Baja gem.
Divvied up into categories of traveler types (couples, partiers, etc.), this is the full list of TripAdvisor’s Spring Break recommendations for 2024:
- Families: Orlando, Florida, Edinburgh, Scotland and Costa Rica
- Couples: Paris, France, Finger Lakes, New York and Sri Lanka
- Friends: Napa, California, Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico and Jackson, Wyoming
- Partiers: Mallorca, Spain, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
