Ahead of some of the busiest parts of the summer break, Airbnb released a list of the most sought-after coastal destinations in Mexico.

According to Airbnb, their rankings were based on a number of factors, including the number of lodging options that featured 5-star ratings from previous guests within a city.

Also, the site used its database of client wishlists to create this ranking. 

Cabo was part of the 9 Mexico beach cities that made this list of most hospitable destinations within that niche.

Mulegé and Loreto, which are two other popular tourist destinations within the same state of Baja California Sur, also made the list.

Cabo, though, is the only city in the state that features properties listed as Airbnb Plus homes. If it wasn’t for one property in Ensenada, it would hold this title for the entire Baja Peninsula.

Here are some of the Airbnb properties that landed Cabo on the list of the most hospitable beach destinations in Mexico.

There are only 3 Cabo properties listed on Airbnb that are part of their Airbnb Plus program. These are homes that have been verified by Airbnb staff who’ve inspected the home and spoken to the hosts directly as part of the verification process.

One of the Airbnb Plus options is a condo in the popular Cabo Bello neighborhood. It’s a two-bedroom place with modern decor that you can book for about 190 dollars a night.

Compared to the usual prices that you’re expected to pay for a Cabo hotel, this is a very decent deal. As a guest here you’ll have access to the communal pool as well as the tennis courts. 

In this next top-rated Airbnb property, guests will have access to the entire 4 room home within the Quivira gated community.

This is one of the newest real estate developments in Cabo, and it’s anchored by the Quivira golf course designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus. Guests at this Airbnb are going to have access to the beachfront clubhouse, where they can enjoy fine dining options.

This gives guests an opportunity to have some “hotel-like” amenities while staying at an Airbnb. The nightly rate for this option is currently at 619 dollars a night.

Taking into account that it features 4 rooms, that’s not the worst deal in Cabo by any standard.

The last property that’s part of the Airbnb Plus program in Cabo is more of a surf shack in Cabo San Lucas.

One of the biggest selling points that the hosts of this property want people to know about is the fact that the property is located near popular surf spots. The description on the property reads, 

“This condo is walking distance to some of the best surfing spots in the world—Zippers, The Rock, and Old Man’s Beach.” 

It also goes on to say that the property is within walking distance of downtown San Jose del Cabo. Here tourists can enjoy things like art galleries and people selling all sorts of local pottery that works great as a souvenir from their Cabo vacation.

Also, downtown San Jose del Cabo is home to great restaurants and some nightlife options worthy of being explored. 

As far as the property goes, it’s a small studio-like apartment that features a living area with a couch that looks cozy.

There’s a hammock on the outdoor terrace that overlooks the pool area, and the studio is within a building that features other similar apartments.
