Oscar-winner George Clooney had a guys’ weekend getaway to Los Cabos over the weekend. The trip potentially included plenty of Casamigos tequila since he made the trip to Cabo with his business partner Rande Gerber. The two were spotted from afar by paparazzi as they soaked up the Cabo sun from a local private villa. At least 4 other friends joined Clooney and Gerber on their Cabo vacation.
The 60-year-old Geber was not shy about removing his Casa Amigos t-shirt to show off his chiseled physique. Although Clooney was a little more shy about showing off his body to cameras, he looks to be in shape now into his 60s as well with a navy blue polo and shorts.
Does George Clooney Still Own A Los Cabos Home?
Clooney and Gerber bought a dual villa complex known as Casa Amigos, just like their tequila brand. Half of the property was Clooney’s, and the other was Gerber’s, but the two homes are essentially connected. Reportedly George had not been able to spend as much time in Cabo after getting married to his wife, Amal. So he decided to put his half of the Casamigos complex for sale.

The beachfront property with a large terrace that includes a jacuzzi and extensive bar area was on the market for 50 million dollars. Ultimately back in 2016, it was speculated that both Clooney and Gerber sold the entire complex to a Mexican billionaire. Whether they are visiting the Casa Amigos complex or not, both Clooney and Gerber seem to still enjoy their Cabo getaways.
Clooney’s Cabo & Mexico Trips In General, Are All Mostly For Pleasure Now
Back in 2013, Clooney and Gerber started Casamigos tequila as a project to craft a beverage that they wanted to drink themselves. According to both of them, the drink was never meant to be spun off into a massive business. Clooney and Gerber were content to make trips to Tequila Jalisco and taste multiple tequila variations.
Mike Meldman, who is also a founding member of the brand recently said of the tequila,
“It’s not a celebrity brand. We made it to drink, not to start a company. People appreciate the authenticity of our story … We are just three guys that know what we like and want to share it, one of us just happens to be a celebrity.”
Clooney sold the company a few years back. The trio of investors who “never intended” to start a tequila brand to sell the product grew the business to a cool 1 billion dollars. At the time it was reported that Clooney would be earning over 230 million dollars from the sale. A sum of money that made him the highest-paid Hollywood actor back in 2018 despite not making major movies that year. If Clooney sold the brand, why then were most of the gentlemen on his most recent Cabo trip wearing Casamigos t-shirts?
Although Clooney doesn’t officially have a majority stake in the company anymore, he reportedly still held onto a lower percentage of the company. Also, he remained on board as the main brand ambassador. In fact, all of the bottles of Casamigos tequila come with George Clooney’s signature on the bottle.
His most recent Cabo trip with friends potentially doubled down as a brand promotional event. We say this because Clooney is one of the celebs that regularly headed down to Cabo but was many times careful to not be spotted by paparazzi. Getting his picture taken this time around with a few friends who are all wearing Casamigos T-shirts seems to be deliberate. A perfect way to get your company to pay for your guys’ weekend in Cabo.
