One of the biggest attractions of Los Cabos for travelers is the large selection of luxury all-inclusive resorts spread out between Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, and the Tourist Corridor. But, as beautiful and luxurious as they are, these huge, sprawling resorts are not your only option when visiting Los Cabos.
In fact, there is a completely different experience to be had. So we’re going to tell you about five top-rated boutique hotels in Los Cabos for a more intimate experience.
Why Skip The All-Inclusive?
While many of these all-inclusive resorts are fantastic, there are a few disadvantages to staying at a huge all-inclusive resort. For one, you’re a lot less likely to get out and try some authentic Mexican dining when all of your food is already included in your stay.
And second of all, the massive size of these resorts often means a lot of walking to get around the property when you’d likely rather be relaxing by the pool, and a lot of people too. These reasons and more make the following smaller, boutique-style hotels an attractive option.

SIX TWO FOUR Urban Beach Hotel
The SIX TWO FOUR Urban Beach Hotel is perfectly located in San Jose del Cabo, with only a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and to the San Jose Estuary. Guests who have stayed at this boutique-style hotel have commented that the rooms are a bit small but very clean and well-maintained.
The favorite amenity among past guests seems to be the location of the property, and multiple guests have also commented on the friendliness of the staff.
MariaMar Suites
Also located in San Jose del Cabo, MariaMar Suites is a quieter option, located on a hill with beautiful views and beaches within walking distance.
The amazing views from the balconies are what most past guests comment on, and one previous guest described the hotel as having an “upscale hostel” feel. The included breakfast, the BBQ area, and the value for the money are also frequently mentioned.
Hotel Los Patios
Hotel Los Patios is located less than five minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, yet still far enough away from the hustle and bustle to get some peace and quiet. Some guests who have stayed at Hotel Los Patios have described it as a “hidden gem,” despite the fact that it isn’t anything fancy.
The courtyard, the infinity pool, the poolside bar, and the on-site restaurant have all been mentioned by past guests as well.
The Bungalows Hotel
The Bungalows Hotel is located in Cabo San Lucas, only a few minutes from the marina and steps from Cabo’s famous Medano Beach. The hotel gets rave reviews from guests for having beautiful grounds, comfortable, well-equipped rooms, and superior hospitality, many of them saying that they felt like family when they were there.
What gets the most mentions from reviewers is the gourmet breakfast that’s included, which has been described as delicious, incredible, and stupendous.

To the owners/Editors
You really do some great short read articles on Los Cabo’s. Each community evenly shared with an understanding that each centre has a distinct personality. Topics are timely and do a good job of showing both sides of an issue.
My wife and I have been frequenting San Jose for 30 years now. Introduced to San Jose in particular by a slow pitch ball tournament organizer, a retired RCMP officer. The Calgary radio station was offered 4 seats (2 for a host and guest) and 2 contest winner seats to promote a full plane ride here for a tournament on Oct or Nov. Staying at the Posada Real. Along with Aguamarina and El Preseidente, the 3 only major beach hotels at the time.
We bought a small condo in a 25 unit complex and here we are, retired amongst all the progress. Some good, some not so.
Fund Cabo Sun on the net somehow. and subscribe to free service, which thanks to the articles you present, is now an anticipated read. I see your roots are in BC. With all the downer news of past 3 years Cabo Sun is a refreshing change. Quite a success story where main media have dropped the ball. They forgot how to appeal to readers without bias. Enough of that. Just nice to see a success story. Thank you for what you have created. We enjoy what you do.
Sincerely, JimJ
