After a long week behind a desk working on a laptop, we all deserve some tranquility.

Planning a weekend getaway can be a great way to recharge before all over again starting the following week.

5 Reasons Why Los Cabos Is Becoming More Popular With Younger Tourists

Los Cabos is, without a doubt, one of the best destinations to do so! It’s surely not a coincidence that this Mexican municipality is expecting an 80% occupancy rate for the first long weekend of the year. But why?

Here are five reasons why Los Cabos is perfect for a weekend getaway.

Proximity

Los Cabos can be reached with a quick flight from most US cities. To give you a few examples, a flight from Los Angeles to Los Cabos lasts only two and a half hours, from Dallas and Denver the trip lasts slightly more than three hours, while from Chicago, your flight will be five hours long.

This means you will be able to land in Los Cabos before lunchtime if you leave early in the morning.

On top of this, Los Cabos has a well-served airport, the San José Airport, which is located near the two main cities in the municipality, as well as most all-inclusive resorts in the area.

This allows tourists to reach their accommodation within minutes rather than wasting precious minutes.

Highly connected

According to the latest estimates, San José del Cabo Airport has direct connections to 28 US cities.

Among these are Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, San Francisco, Denver, San Diego, Austin, Seattle, Chicago, NYC, and many others.

Direct flights are not only a great way to limit your impact on the environment but also allow tourists to reach their destination quickly without waiting for hours on layovers, something everyone must consider when booking a weekend getaway.

Located south of California, Los Cabos is on the Mexican Pacific Standard Time (GMT-7). This is equal to only one hour difference from cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego.

Obviously, the ones that will experience the biggest jet lag are tourists departing from NYC. Set on the Easter Standard Time (GMT-5), if you’re leaving from this metropolis, you will experience a two-hour difference. This is really not much and will play in your favor when arriving in Los Cabos, as you will have two extra hours at your disposal!

Planning a weekend getaway in a location with a tiny time difference compared to your departing point is crucial to avoid the negative consequences of jet lag and be able to return back home refreshed and re-energize.

Cheap options

Even though budget limitation may not be an issue for you, let’s be honest. Most people are not willing to pay a small fortune to spend only two days in a location. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to cut down costs when visiting Los Cabos.

While most people here opt for an all-inclusive stay, there is also an abundance where you can spend your nights for a fraction of the cost of an all-inclusive.

Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean you won’t be able to enjoy the state-of-the-art spas and fitness centers offered by the luxury properties located in Los Cabos.

Not by chance; most of the all-inclusive resorts here sell daily passes for people who want to try out these services without paying for a night in these massive establishments.

Perfect for recharging

Lastly, Los Cabos is the ideal destination for those wanting to recharge after a long week at work.

With plenty of beaches to choose from, warm weather, and luxurious fine-dining restaurants where you can nourish your body with the best food in Mexico, there is no better place to release all the stress accumulated throughout the week.

Book an afternoon at the spa and get a good massage, let the ocean waves lull your tired body, or simply spend your days sunbathing on one of the many blue-flag-certified beaches in the area.

Regardless of what you decide to do, rest assured that after a Los Cabos weekend getaway, your Monday will no longer be so miserable!
