5 Reasons To Choose A Los Cabos Airbnb For Your Vacation Over A Resort

Los Cabos is widely known for its variety of all-inclusive resorts providing their guests with state-of-the-art amenities, paradisiac views, and much more!

Not by chance, Tripadvisor.com recently named the Grand Velas resort, located in the tourism corridor within Cabos San Lucas, the best luxury hotel in Mexico

But while for some ‘holiday’ is synonymous with ‘all-inclusive resort’, others prefer to book an Airbnb for a variety of reasons.

5 Reasons To Choose A Los Cabos Airbnb For Your Vacation Over A Resort copy

When Airbnb.com was first founded in 2008, the platform was mainly used by people who wanted to save a few bucks on their vacation by renting a room in someone’s apartment.

Since then, Airbnb has grown exponentially and has now a way wider range of accommodations to offer its users.

From stunning villas a few meters from the Pacific Ocean to luxurious apartments featuring spas and gym access, Airbnbs nowadays can be as luxurious as the best all-inclusive resorts.

But what are the advantages? Here are five reasons to choose a Los Cabos Airbnb for your vacation over an all-inclusive resort.

Feeling at home

All-inclusive resorts can help you feel like a VIP thanks to their high-end amenities, but people rarely feel at home there.

No matter what, once outside of their room, visitors can’t help but be surrounded by other tourists, a sudden reminder that they are not in a private setting.

Airbnbs, on the other hand, allow people to rent entire apartments, homes, or villas, giving them that extra feeling of comfort.

No need to share common areas or chit-chat with other tourists over breakfast.

Airbnbs’ strength resides in the ability to make you feel at home outside of home.

Cooking your favorite dishes

Los Cabos has recently established itself as one of the best Mexican destinations for foodies.

According to a recent report, over one in ten visitors decide to book a holiday here to try typical delicacies.

It’s undeniable! Los Cabos surely has plenty of amazing dishes and luxurious restaurants to offer its visitors, but let’s be honest.

Eating outside every day can be tiring. We all end up craving our usual food after a while.

Unlike all-inclusive resorts, booking an Airbnb gives visitors access to fully-equipped kitchens.

This means that tourists can cook their favorite dishes whenever they start craving the food they normally eat back home.

If you are a foodie, booking an Airbnb will also give you the chance to explore local markets looking for the best local ingredients, from veggies to spices, cheeses, and more, and try to recreate the unique dishes you just tried at the restaurant in the comfort of your temporary home.

Over a 1,000 accommodations

Even though Los Cabos is home to a myriad of all-inclusive resorts, people will always have a bigger choice when booking an Airbnb.

As of today, Los Cabos is home to over 1,000 Airbnbs allowing visitors to select their ideal accommodation, whether they are opting for a modest apartment, a humongous villa, or a mansion with an ocean view.

Suit all pockets

Airbnbs also have way wider price ranges. People can choose from a huge list of accommodations suitable for all pockets.

Visitors on a budget can decide only to book a room or reconnect with nature and opt for a camping site.

Those without money restrictions can choose among a vast range of villas and mansions featuring pools, breathtaking terraces, and other state-of-the-art facilities.

An authentic stay

Last on our list is authenticity, something most all-inclusive resorts lack, unfortunately.

Living in a local house or spending a few days immersed in the Los Cabos nature often result in a completely different experience compared to an all-inclusive resort stay.

People deciding to spend their holidays in an all-inclusive resort tend to isolate themselves from their surroundings.

This, unfortunately, means low chances to connect with the locals and get that truly authentic experience most people crave.

On the other hand, Airbnb allows you to book a farm stay or other accommodations located in the heart of the city, allowing you to live in the same areas inhabited by the locals.

This will help you establish connections with the inhabitants of Los Cabos, increasing your chances of discovering the local culture, traditions, and lifestyle.

Can confirm. Haven't been to Los Cabos yet, but we just got back from a trip to Banff, Canada. When I booked, there were only 2 resorts or hotels available for less than 300/night, with a number of them in the thousands. So opted for an airbnb in Calgary. We got to see what life is like in central Canada. Shopping at the local grocery store, walking the the suburban roads & parks, and visiting the local eateries. There was a cultural festival going on in downtown Calgary as well which we much enjoyed. We still enjoyed Banff & the Rockies, albeit with a bit of a drive but fewer crowds. Airbnb is a wonderful option if you're on a budget or you're looking for authentic. Our hosts were a family with small children. Perhaps one of the best reasons to go airbnb is most often you're supporting Mom and Pop owners who are trying to make a little supplemental income as opposed to big corporate owners who are already filthy rich (do you help locals who staff an all-inclusive resort? Sure. At a low paying job, still making the corporate bosses rich - why not support local businesses instead? Not all airbnbs are local ofc, but it's much more likely). Highly recommend this alternative to the big resorts.
