“As far as the category of 5-Diamond hotels is concerned, our country has eighteen tourist complexes of that size, and I can tell you that the municipality of Los Cabos has eleven of those eighteen hotels.”

Five-Diamond ratings are given to properties that encapsulate the ultimate luxurious experience for their guests, offering state-of-the-art amenities and top-notch services.

Rodrigo Esponda continued by stating: “Los Cabos offers around 3,000 luxury rooms (…).” He later said that on top of these, more luxurious accommodations are going to soon arrive in this municipality.

“Furthermore, I can tell you that they are about to open additional projects to the hotels that are already there/ We will have a second Four Seasons, a Park Hyatt, a Soho House, a St. Regis, and Aman,” said the General Director of FITURCA.

All these new properties should open their doors to Los Cabos tourists by the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025. But why is this Mexican municipality home to so many five-diamond hotels and all-inclusive resorts?

Here are three reasons why Los Cabos has the most five-Diamond resorts in Mexico

Breathtaking beaches

Los Cabos is the North American area with the highest number of blue-flag-certified beaches, with a total of 25 places that were awarded this prestigious certification.

With places such as El Médano Beach, Lover’s Beach, and Santa Maria Beach known for their crystal-blue waters and golden sand, this corner of Mexico is the ideal place for those wanting to spend a holiday relaxing in some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

But blue-flag certifications are not only awarded thanks to the stunning nature characterizing a given place. Beaches should also provide great service to bathers, such as high safety levels, by being constantly monitored by experienced lifeguards to ensure the safety of all people heading there.

On top of this, these areas should be spotlessly clean, meaning that the Los Cabos government regularly carries out cleaning initiatives to prevent trash from accumulating on the shore.

High safety levels

There is no way to truly enjoy a vacation if you’re constantly worrying about your safety. Thankfully, tourists heading to Los Cabos can simply relax and forget about it.

Not by chance, Los Cabos is constantly ranked among the safest municipalities in Mexico. The local government is always trying its best to implement new procedures and measures to increase the already high safety standards characterizing this area.

For instance, just a few days ago, it was announced that controls will increase on Los Cabos’ most popular beaches to prevent unauthorized vendors from selling their products to tourists.

On top of this, the local authorities also decided to increase road patrols to limit the number of car accidents, which are unfortunately quite frequent in Los Cabos.

Ultimate luxury

Last but not least, Los Cabos remains synonymous with ultimate luxury. Tourists here will be able to choose from a vast array of top-notch activities.

Whether you want to enjoy dinner on board a local yacht while watching the sunset, enjoy a horse ride on the golden sand on one of Los Cabos beaches, or play some golf in the renowned Cabo del Sol Golf Club, this is the place for you.

This municipality is also home to several fine-dining restaurants where world-renowned chefs serve their latest creations while tourists enjoy breathtaking views over the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez directly from their dining table. Not by chance, the Michelin Guide has recently decided to add Los Cabos to its famous guide.

Lastly, Los Cabos is also becoming extremely popular for wellness tourism. With plenty of spas offering unique treatments often based on ancient Mexican knowledge, this is the ideal place for ultimate relaxation.
