Los Cabos is a beautiful vacation destination with a stunning landscape and gorgeous beaches.   

Despite its natural beauty, though, tourists have indicated in exit surveys that they feel the destination needs a good cleaning, and that’s exactly what it’s going to get.   

That’s why Los Cabos is about to be even more beautiful to visit.   

Massive Cleaning Campaign To Be Launched 

To address the negative reviews regarding the cleanliness of tourist areas in Los Cabos, a massive cleaning campaign is going to be launched.   

The project was introduced by the Association of Professionals and Business Leaders of Los Cabos.   

Its purpose is to focus on popular tourist areas in the destination.   

Why This Cleaning Campaign Is Being Launched 

Several weeks ago it was reported that tourists visiting Los Cabos were complaining about the cleanliness of various areas in the destination.   

In the surveys, they specifically mentioned the area around the Cabo San Lucas marina.   

The massive cleaning campaign being launched is an effort to improve the tourist image.   

Additionally, local business owners are hoping that this campaign will help improve business, as they have seen a decrease in sales of about 20 percent.   

Everybody Pitching In 

There are a lot of both local officials and private sector individuals who are working together to get this major cleaning campaign underway.   

Talks have been initiated between private businesses and officials from all three governmental departments.   

According to a representative of business owners in Los Cabos, business owners are already working on cleaning campaigns of their own.   

An official launch of a cleanup, though, would give the city more than $50 million for the project if approved.   

Tourist Areas In Los Cabos 

The focus of the cleaning project will be the areas most visited by tourists.   

Although not all of the details of the proposed cleaning project have been released, there are a few specific areas that will likely be included in the project.   

The downtown areas of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas’s marina area, as well as various beaches, will likely be on that list.   

The Recent Beach Cleaning In The Destination 

Beaches in Los Cabos have already been the focus of a recent cleaning campaign.   

This is an ongoing campaign that was launched in May to keep the beaches beautiful for visitors.   

Part of that campaign is making it easier for beachgoers to dispose of trash because visitors leaving trash behind is the number one cause of the beaches not being as clean as they could be.   

Tourists Still Love Los Cabos 

Even though there have been some indications from tourists that Los Cabos could be cleaner, tourists still love Los Cabos.   

In those same surveys that indicated that tourists expect Los Cabos to be cleaner, many tourists also indicated that they would return to Los Cabos.   

The destination welcomed nearly 5 million tourists last year and is already on track to match or exceed that number this year.  

San Jose Del Cabo Vs. Cabo San Lucas – Which One’s The Best To Visit 

Cabo San Lucas is more of an urban area, and the part of Los Cabos is known for its nightlife and parties.   

If you want a quieter vacation and the charm of old Mexico, then San Jose del Cabo may be the better choice.   

Both areas are worth visiting, but where you stay will depend on what kind of Los Cabos vacation you’re hoping to have.
