Everywhere you turn, it seems like prices are going up. From the price of eggs and gasoline to housing and even utilities, consumers are having to pay more for the things they enjoy. But don’t let inflation impact your vacation. Here are some great tips on how to score cheap, or even nearly free, flights to Los Cabos for your next beach adventure!

Cheap Flights To Los Cabos

Looking to keep some extra money in your pocket for your next trip to Los Cabos? There are some great ways to cut the cost of your airfare and still get a good deal, even in these inflationary times.

One way is to be flexible with your travel dates and sign up for free flight alerts from Google Flights. Scheduling an alert with Google Flights will send you a notification when the price drops from your preferred airport to Los Cabos.

Be ready to act fast once you receive an alert because a number of other tourists may be looking for the same deal.

The good news is you can actually book a fare and hold it for less than 24 hours while getting a full refund if you cancel. Many travelers do not know about this United States Federal Government airline rule. Mexican airlines included!

Another great website to visit is CheapOAir. We were able to find nonstop roundtrip flights from Los Angeles to Los Cabos on CheapOAir in May for the low price of $191. Not a bad deal for a summertime getaway!

If you are really looking for a deal, try checking out Dollar Flight Club. They will send you an alert when prices from your home airport are up to 90% off. Again, move fast because these deals go quickly!

You can also use Going, formerly known as Scott’s Cheap Flights, for this same type of information. Going also catches mistake fares from time to time when fares were posted wrong by the airlines at a ridiculously low price. You really need to move fast on these! Unfortunately, I have yet to see one for Los Cabos.

Free Flights to Los Cabos

If you want the best deal of all, it’s best to travel for free. Yes, it is possible. Sorta.

The most common way to fly free is to collect airline miles from your other paid flights to save enough for a free flight to Los Cabos. The airlines that fly to Los Cabos allow you to earn miles for each flight you take, and after a while, you can use those miles to fly free instead. You may even earn enough miles to upgrade to business or first class instead!

Another way for a free flight to Los Cabos is by collecting points or miles on a credit card. Many credit cards are offering large bonuses right now of 40,000 points/miles, 50,000 points/miles, or even more. As you pay your regular bills with a credit card, you will accumulate points or miles for every dollar spent.

You can use those points and miles to either pay for a ticket from the credit card company or receive a statement credit for money spent on a flight. Cardholders may also be able to simply transfer miles to the airline of their choice instead of using a credit card.

Credit Cards

Beware, even though flights may be advertised as “free,” they actually may not be. Most airlines require their frequent flyer members to pay associated taxes and fees on their “free” flights. Additionally, the schedules may be limited, and the tickets may need to be booked well in advance. But hey, it’s still pretty close to free!

While we are all facing the challenges of inflation with higher costs of housing, food, and gasoline, at least your vacation can still be cheap or free!
