Los Cabos is one of this year’s most popular destinations due to its vast range of offerings, from luxury spas and hotels to Michelin-star dining and stunning natural landscapes.
However, it is also one of the best destinations for a family-friendly holiday, with activities for all ages, hotels with kids’ clubs, and plenty of excursions for adults and kids to do together.
With every water sport on offer, including snorkeling, SUP, diving, and sailing, plus outdoor activities such as ATV tours, camel riding, horse riding, and bungee jumping, kids young and old will be thoroughly entertained.
Combined with a stay at one of Los Cabos’ many award-winning family-friendly hotels, which feature waterparks, spas, and kids’ clubs, it’s the perfect holiday for everyone, regardless of different interests or skill levels.
Whale-Watching In Los Cabos
Whale-watching is one of the best and most popular activities in Los Cabos. Each year the season stretches from December all the way until April, and sightings are almost guaranteed. In 2023, the season will run until Spring and then restart at the end of the year, which is high season in Los Cabos, but these are the best times to go for a unique holiday experience.
Whale-watching tours offer a variety of different ways to see whale species, such as on large boats, catamarans, speedboats, and glass-bottomed boats. For families with young children, big boats are ideal for tours, but for older kids who can swim, speedboats are a more thrilling way to get up close to the animals.
Wild Canyon Adventures
Wild Canyon Adventures is the ultimate Los Cabos attraction for thrill seekers. It has almost every activity, including ziplining, ATVs, and bungee jumping.
However, the theme park also includes a few more relaxed adventures which are perfect for young children or families, such as nature walks and hikes where you can learn about the local wildlife and flora in Los Cabos.
It also has an onsite restaurant, The Lion’s Den, which serves great international cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, such as burgers and wings. Plus, it has a shop that sells themed souvenirs and apparel so that you have something to remember your adventures!
Cabo Pulmo Marine Park
Los Cabos has plenty of opportunity for seeing marine life; you can take almost any snorkelling or diving tour from the marina. But to really impress kids, a trip to Cabo Pulmo Marine Park, which has untouched reefs and some of the best beaches in Los Cabos.
The park is protected due to its high concentration of marine life, so tours here are knowledgeable and safe and ideal for older kids who are already comfortable snorkeling, kayaking, or even diving.
You’re likely to see eels, sea turtles, schools of tropical fish, and manta rays, and most tours that go from Cabo San Lucas will also make stops to see sea lions and other interesting attractions.
Pirate Ship Cruise In Los Cabos
For kids, what could be more fun than being on a Pirate Ship? The one and only tour, which is inevitably extremely popular, is run by Buccaneers, who have a real full-sized pirate ship for sailings, which includes snorkeling and sunset cruises.
You’ll also see sights such as the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, Lover’s Beach, and Chileno Bay. Kids will love exploring the ship, decorated authentically, plus a pirate crew who do acrobatics and have sword fights.
For the adults, aside from the chance to see some of Los Cabos’ most famous sights, there’s an open bar that also serves alcohol and a range of food options, including breakfast for early sailings and a BBQ dinner show.
