The Arch

The famous Arch of Cabo San Lucas, also known as El Arco, can be seen in almost every tourism ad for Los Cabos, and for good reason.

This iconic rock formation was formed millions of years ago and is the subject of many vacation photos taken throughout the years, due to its striking appearance.

To see it up close you’ll have to take a boat tour or water taxi, which will be well worth the trip, but you can also see it from the shore.

@femme_foodie If you’re wondering whether to invest in an excursion to see Cabo’s famous “El Arco,” just do it! You’ll spend a spectacular morning in a catamaran whizzing by the arch, seeing sea lions, fish, dolphins, and whales, and the famous coastline of the Baja. Book with Cabo Adventures. The staff are fantastic and served us mimosas, breakfast, snacks and margaritas! #caboadventures #catamaransailing #cabosanlucas #caboarch #arcocabosanlucas #travelinspo #traveldiaries ♬ Wildest Dreams – R3hab Remix – Taylor Swift

Land’s End

Right next to The Arch is a rock formation called Land’s End and it has its own reasons for being so popular among tourists.

It not only marks the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula but the spot where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet as well.

It’s a beautiful spot to see the sunset, and although it can be seen from the shore, the best way to see it up close is on a boat tour that will allow you time to get pictures of this amazing rock formation.

Mt. Solmar

For the more adventurous nature lovers, there is the option to hike Mt. Solmar, although you’ll have to go through a local dog kennel owner to get there.

The mountain isn’t located on the outskirts of town, but rather right in Cabo San Lucas and actually connected to The Arch.

While it is a bit of a strenuous hike to get to it, there are few better views of Cabo San Lucas, and hiking it will give you the opportunity to explore Lover’s Beach and Divorce Beach too.

Cabo Pulmo National Park

Located just a couple of hours from Cabo San Lucas, Cabo Pulmo is the perfect destination for those who want to explore the marine life of the region.

It is a National Marine Park that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a reef that is about 20,000 years old, according to estimates, and it features more than 800 marine life species.

Snorkel tours of the park run about $200-$300 and include transportation, snorkel gear, and lunch.

Sierra de la Laguna Mountains

About 15 miles from San Jose del Cabo you’ll find a beautiful mountain range that is a striking contrast to the desert and the sea.

It’s the perfect place for hiking, with spectacular views, and a few surprises along the way, particularly its very own waterfall perfect for cooling off on hot days.

While you can rent a car to visit the mountains yourself, there are a number of tours available, ranging from around $150-$200, and the knowledgeable guides will allow you the opportunity to learn about this amazing region.
