Superstars are coming to Los Cabos as even the most famous and wealthy need an escape to. Earlier this week, both Grammy award-winning musician Justin Timberlake and NBA icon Michael Jordan were seen in Baja’s top destination.
Throughout the year, celebrity sightings are reported in various parts of Los Cabos. Whether it’s a night on the town or some relaxing beach top at a high-end resort, Cabo is a hotspot for A-listers.
To no surprise, celeb sightings keep on comin’. Golf legend Tiger Woods was spotted amidst his well-documented career comeback.
He’s had a rough go over the years, with various injuries and drama in his personal life taking over headlines.
Now, he has his sights set on new ventures in Los Cabos. Let’s take a look at what he’s up to:
No Stranger To Los Cabos
About a decade ago, Tiger Woods visited Los Cabos to hit a ceremonial tee shot as the “ribbon-cutting” to a brand new golf course.
Not only was it brand new, but Tiger Woods was key behind the scenes in designing the course, adding to Los Cabos’ reputation as a top golf destination.
“I set up the golf strategy to make golfers think and make choices. Regardless of your handicap, there are going to be different ways to play every hole. Angles of approach are going to be very important and will dictate the type of shots you should consider. I love this kind of golf.”– Tiger Woods
Over the years, the course has had rave reviews from the golf world with the mesmerizing backdrop of Cabo’s vast scenery.
Located about 20 minutes west of the hustle and bustle of Cabo is El Cardonal at Diamante, which took on a whole new role this week.
PGA’s Latest Event
El Cardonal has become the latest host in the PGA. Previously a Cancun event, the WWT Championship at Mayakoba has teed off in Cabo, drawing big crowds, including celebrities.
Turns out this is why Justin Timberlake was making a visit to sunny Baja. But JT was not the only superstar seen.
Tiger Woods was spotted scoping out the event on a golf cart, as this may be the most publicity his first-ever designed course has received.
Photos showed he was all smiles and proud to make an appearance at his masterpiece, even tweeting out on X:
I am so proud of El Cardonal @DiamanteCabo, @tgrdesignbytw’s first course to be home to a @PGATOUR event. Good luck to all the players this week! I hope you have as much fun on this course as I did designing it.
Is Tiger Back To Playing?
Tiger is still in the midst of attempting an epic comeback. Fortunately for him, at 47 years old, he plays a sport where you can play late into life.
If he were an athlete in any other major sport, chances are we would never witness greatness again. And to be honest, we still may never see it.
Tiger is going against all odds to get back on the course but may never get back to his peak form where he dominated the sport.
After a major car accident and multiple surgeries, he has mentioned trouble walking during recent play.
One can only speculate if this is why he has reportedly only been seen in a golf cart at his Cabo course.
However, in early October, he had the golf community in a frenzy, wondering if a comeback was closer than it appeared as he was seen taking swings at Pebble Beach.
For now, he is simply a spectator and ambassador for the sport he helped build in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Despite his controversies off the course, many fans can’t wait to see if he can pull off yet another major comeback.
Just as he did in 2019 when he stunned his doubters by adding another Green Jacket to his resume with a win at the historic Masters Tournament.
Time will tell, but he seems to be on the right track.
