Los Cabos is known for having some super luxurious resorts and rental properties. Earlier in the year, a resort in Cabo San Lucas, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort, was highlighted for having one of the most stunning views in the world, and according to Forbes, the Waldorf Astoria in Los Cabos has one of the best outdoor dining terraces in the world. But the most recent accolade that has been given to a Los Cabos resort, the Zadún Ritz-Carlton, doesn’t have so much to do with luxury but, rather, seclusion — because this resort in Los Cabos is one of the most secluded in the world.
To gain an appreciation of where the resort is and why it is so secluded, it’s important to know a little bit about the location of Los Cabos and, by extension, Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas is located at the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula, which is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez.
The Zadún Ritz-Carlton is about an hour away from Cabo San Lucas and a few miles east of San Jose del Cabo. It, too, is surrounded by the Sea of Cortez in addition to the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. Its location provides stunning views of the San Jose del Cabo coastline from the luxurious suites and villas. Being surrounded by these bodies of water, the desert, and a mountain range, the resort feels like it’s a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas of the popular destination.
The property was designed by architects from the Mexican architectural firm ABAX Arquitectos, a firm that has been around since 1982 and prides itself on respecting nature, which is evidenced in the resort’s design.

The location of the Zadún Ritz-Carlton along the Baja California coast is what makes it one of the most secluded in the world, but despite its seclusion, it is not lacking in amenities by any means. There are five different dining establishments that explore South American and Mexican flavors and serve everything from ceviche to tacos. There are also a couple of bars, one of which takes guests on a journey through the mezcal and tequila world.
A luxurious ultra-secluded hotel has to not only offer plenty of dining onsite so guests don’t have to leave the resort but something to keep guests occupied without having to leave that seclusion as well. At Zadún Ritz-Carlton, they offer a number of different experiences ranging from adventurous to romantic to enjoy while visiting the resort. Golfing, water adventures, desert experiences, and private excursions are just a few ways to spend your time at Zadún Ritz-Carlton.
For those that simply want to sit back and relax, there are four pools on the property as well, one strictly for adults. And at Spa Alkemia, guests can treat themselves to treatments that will put them in touch with nature. Here, where the treatments are given in lush, secluded surroundings, guests will have a feeling of being connected with the natural surroundings.
Whether you’re spending time in your room or suite, taking a dip in one of the resort’s pools, or trying a new flavor of mezcal or tequila, you’ll be doing so in ultimate seclusion at the Zadún Ritz-Carlton in Los Cabos. All that luxury and seclusion will come at a price, though. A stay at the resort starts at around $1500 a night.
While other Los Cabos resorts offer some level of seclusion, it isn’t quite like that that you’ll find at the Zadún Ritz-Carlton. There are plenty of great options for more affordable prices, though none quite secluded as this.
