There may not be a shortage of luxury resorts in Cabo but there are only 6 Los Cabos resorts that have been given the prestigious AAA Five Diamond award.  There are currently only a total of 26 hotels and resorts in all of Mexico that have been given this coveted award.  Even more astonishing, in the entire world, only about 122 hotels have received this high honor, which means Los Cabos is home to 5 percent of them, and we’re going to list them here. 

Montage Los Cabos

Montage is located in Cabo San Lucas and is the newest addition to the list of AAA Five Diamond resorts in Los Cabos.  The hotel features only 122 well-appointed rooms, suites, and larger casas in addition to the 52 luxurious residences on the breathtaking 39-acre seaside property.  There are six fabulous restaurants, a world-class spa, and a beautiful infinity pool overlooking Santa Maria Bay.  Montage Los Cabos was added to the list of AAA Five Diamond resorts in 2018.

Esperanza An Auberge Resort

Esperanza is part of the Auberge Resorts Collection and is located in Cabo San Lucas.  It is one of the newer additions to the list, receiving its AAA Five Diamond award in 2017.  The accommodations at Esperanza are anything but standard, with plenty of room to spread out whether choosing a casita, suite, villa, or hacienda and many come with breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez.  There are four Baja-inspired restaurants on-site and a number of private dining experiences that can be arranged.

Grand Velas Los Cabos

Grand Velas is located almost perfectly in the middle between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.  It received its inaugural AAA award in 2017 and has been delighting visitors with its all-inclusive luxury for at least that long.  The luxurious all-suite resort features seven different unique dining options, one of which is led by a Head Chef that has earned two Michelin Stars.  For relaxation, guests can kick back at the beautiful pool area that’s surrounded by lush greenery and offers amazing views of the Sea of Cortez.
