Southern Baja, but particularly Los Cabos, is a foodie paradise.
Between Michelin stars, gastronomical festivals, and now another restaurant brandishing a Four Diamond award, vacationers in Cabo have world-class dining at their fingertips.
The latest restaurant to be awarded is Manta – a ritzy waterfront restaurant in The Cape Hotel of Cabo San Lucas.
With Manta being awarded recently, that totals 10 restaurants in Los Cabos being recognized among the best in the world.
Manta – The Latest Four Diamond Award Recipient
Set overlooking the pristine waters of Cabo San Lucas, this upscale eatery has tastes for every palate. With a focus on seafood given patrons can view the source from the table, the rest of the menu come as a surprise.
Culinary influences are derived not only from Baja’s waters but also from a blend of Peruvian and Japanese flavors.
With dishes like Peruvian ceviche, Suckling pig cochinita and fresh Sashimi, Manta’s menu offers fresh, locally sourced cuisine with an international flare.
AAA’s inspectors love it so much, it easily became the newest addition to the Four Diamond award club.
Arbol (2019)
You may have heard the famous movie quote, ” If you ain’t first, you’re last”, but this isn’t the case at all for Arbol, who received a Four Diamond award in 2019.
A lot can change in a span of 5 years, but Arbol is still dazzling guests with delicious dishes specializing in ‘coastal cuisine.
Like Manta, expect a worldly approach in Arbol’s gastronomy. Described as an Indian Tandoor, Asian Wok, and Seafood Raw Bar, the menu packs a punch.
Vacationers can find Arbol at the luxurious Las Ventanas Al Paraiso resort, and it’s highly advised to request one of the few sunken tables for the ultimate experience.
LaFrida Restaurant (2019)
Not that there is anything wrong with expanding your palate, but LaFrida may be more up the typical Cabo vacationer’s alley by simply offering Mexican cuisine.
The breathtaking views from both indoor and outdoor seating options only add to the allure of dining here.
The popular restaurant located at the Pueblo Bonito resort received this prestigious award in 2019 and has held strong ever since.
Your mouth will be watering, even just taking a glance at the menu with offerings such as Blue Corn Gorditas with Sinaloa Style Barbacoa as a starter.
But good luck picking a single entree as they all sound amazing with dishes like Shrimp Pithivier, Enchiladas with Duck Carnitas, and even Beef Wellington highlighting the menu.
Mezcal (2018)
At first glance, Mezcal looks like a bar you never want to leave, yet it’s so much more as it’s an award-winning restaurant, receiving a Four Diamond award in 2018.
Before diving into the menu, guests staying at the Montage Los Cabos should not Mezcal’s weekly events such as wine and tequila tastings, cooking classes and the ‘Agave Experience’.
Mezcal’s menu focuses on breathing new life into traditional Mexican cuisine, although their cocktails are a whole ‘nother level too.
Patrons can enjoy breakfast or dinner at Mezcal by starting your day with Lobster Benedict or a nice evening out indulging a variety of savory tacos or the unmissable Short Rib Empanada And 32-Ingredients Mole.
Cocina de Autor (2017)
Located at the trendy Grand Velas, Cocina de Autor is not only a Four Diamond award winner but also backed by 2-time Michelin Star Head Chef Sidney Schutte.
When a culinary genius is the mastermind behind a menu, you know you are in for a treat! While Cocina’s impressive cocktail game is a whole different discussion, and part of the resort’s all-inclusive package, the food is unmatched and beyond perfect for Instagrammers.
With a focus on culinary creativity to wow guests with incomparable cuisine, patrons can expect colors, flavors and textures not experienced anywhere else in Los Cabos.
