These days, Los Cabos is quickly becoming one of the most popular vacation destinations on earth thanks to the internet, social media, and rave reviews, and in turn, it is becoming harder to visit.

In addition to the winter holidays, tourism usually peaks during the spring, specifically around spring vacation.

As a result of increasing popularity, a popular low-cost U.S. airline has announced new nonstop flights to Los Cabos from a major U.S. city.

Overall, in 2023, tourism rates in Los Cabos have been skyrocketing, leaving tourism numbers at an all-time high almost year-round.

Reaching new highs since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s safe to say that tourism in Los Cabos is booming and doesn’t show any sign of slowing down.

With these high tourism rates come elevated prices and constantly near-full hotels, and due to these factors, the overall cost of going to Los Cabos for vacation has become significantly more expensive.

To combat rising prices, people have tried to fly with certain airlines and book their stays at various all-inclusive resorts spread throughout the Baja California Sur hotspot.

In that vein, this low-cost, popular airline has just announced that they will be launching new weekly flights from a particular American city to Cabo San Lucas.

Southwest Flights From St. Louis to Los Cabos

You can go ahead and plan your Spring break vacation because this low-cost airline has a brand-new flight deal for you.

Starting in March 2024, the increasingly popular Southwest Airlines is launching non-stop flights to Cabo San Lucas from St. Louis Airport in Missouri.

These direct flights from St. Louis come just after Southwest added weekly non-stop flights from Kansas City International Airport to San José del Cabo in October.

Southwest also has numerous other direct flights to Cabo San Lucas from cities including Austin (Texas), Baltimore (Maryland), Chicago-Midway (Illinois), Denver (Colorado), Houston-Hobby (Texas), Oakland (California), Orange County/Santa Ana (California), Phoenix (Arizona), Sacramento (California), and San Diego (California).

The airline is known for low prices, various other benefits, deals on booking hotels, and site-centric tourist activities.

Known for their unparalleled flight prices, most of which fly within the U.S., Southwest is also famous for its carry-on bag policy (you can check 2 bags and a carry-on at no cost) and your ability to choose your seat on the flight.

Southwest Airlines also has numerous other flights to other cities in Mexico, including Cancun, Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta, and more.

What to do in Los Cabos in the Spring

Spring break has become an increasingly popular time to visit Los Cabos, seeing a 30% spike in visitors since 2021.

Despite the fact that spring break is primarily known for college kids going all out, Los Cabos has something for every type of traveler during spring break.

While the fall and winter months in Los Cabos are known for local festivals, major holidays, and high numbers of marine animal sightings, Spring in the Baja California Sur can be just as fun.

With the sunny skies and absence of hurricanes or tropical storms, the springtime allows tourists to hike in the mountains, horseback ride on the beach, snorkel, scuba dive, and so much more.

Spring in Los Cabos allows for all of the beaches to remain open without officials having to close them or forbid tourists from swimming due to unsafe conditions.

Spring break in Los Cabos has something for everyone, with restaurants hosting special drink-themed nights for adults and family-friendly tourist activities for the kids.

You can also go camel-back riding, zip lining, kayaking, sport fishing, or venture out on day trips to visit one of the nearby islands.
