Los Cabos is a hugely popular vacation destination that millions of tourists visit every year.

Travelers go for the beaches, luxury hotels, and all-inclusive resorts and the opportunity to enjoy a large variety of activities on both land and water.

Even though travelers continue to flock to Los Cabos, though, some of them do have some complaints.

If you’re planning a trip to Los Cabos, take a look at what the top 3 tourist complaints are right now.

Planning A Los Cabos Trip? These Are The Top 3 Tourist Complaints Right Now

The Issue Of Cleanliness

A few months ago, a report indicated that many tourists who visited Los Cabos felt that the area could use a good cleanup.

Streets and sidewalks in tourist areas, as well as the marina area, were specifically mentioned.

Other tourist hotspots are the downtown areas in both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.

What’s Being Done To Cleanup Los Cabos

Shortly after the results of the surveys given to tourists were revealed, Los Cabos launched a massive beach cleaning effort.

Officials and businesses are also working on a widespread cleaning campaign that will improve the image of the destination.

Business owners are improving their building facades and areas surrounding their businesses.

The Lack Of Clean Water

Another complaint tourists have is regarding the lack of clean water.

Currently, it’s advised that you do not drink the tap water in Los Cabos, including ice cubes made from tap water, even though it does meet cleanliness standards.

This is because the pipes through which the water travels are very old and can be contaminated, leading to contaminated water as well.

You can brush your teeth with tap water but should avoid swallowing it.

What Water Is Safe To Drink

To play it safe, you should only drink bottled water when you’re visiting Los Cabos.

This applies while you’re out and about, as well as when you’re at a restaurant or your resort unless the water and ice are purified water.

You can find bottled water everywhere in Los Cabos and may want to stick to that to be safe.

Transportation Issues

The last big complaint from tourists about Los Cabos has to do with the lack of transportation to get around while visiting.

Transportation is pretty expensive, particularly transportation to get to and from the airport, which is located in San Jose del Cabo.

To get from the airport to Cabo San Lucas, you can pay as much as $100.

Taxis are also not regulated that well, and Uber still is not allowed to pick up and drop off at the airport.

Additionally, there is an issue with pirate taxis in Los Cabos.

How Los Cabos Is Handling The Transportation Issue

Los Cabos has launched several campaigns to try to improve the transportation situation.

One of those operations involves cracking down on pirate taxis to protect tourists from potentially fraudulent or dangerous situations.

The other is a surveillance campaign, which randomly checks transportation providers operating in tourist areas.

This includes the marina, downtown, and hotel areas to ensure that they are providing safe and legal transportation.

Is Los Cabos Worth Visiting?

Every destination has its issues, and as mentioned earlier, millions of people visit Los Cabos every year, a good percentage of them from the U.S.

Many are also celebrities who don’t seem to have any complaints about Los Cabos at all.

Los Cabos is a vacation destination known for its luxurious hotels and luxury experiences. It’s close to the U.S. and one of the safest vacation destinations in Mexico, so it’s absolutely worth visiting.
