Festival Details

The “Mar de Ofrendas,” Gastronomy, Tequila, and Mezcal festival takes place right around the time of the Day of the Dead holiday that is celebrated throughout Mexico.

According to a Los Cabos business association member, Nora Alvarado Bello, businesses in the area are being asked to participate in the festival by decorating their building facades for the Day of the Dead.

Additionally, boat parades celebrating the holiday will occur during the same timeframe.

The Day Of The Dead Holiday In Mexico

The Day of the Dead holiday, or Dia de Los Muertos, is celebrated every year in Mexico on November 1st and 2nd, though festivities often take place on the days surrounding the holiday as well.

The holiday, rather than being a mournful two days, is a celebration and remembrance of friends and family who have passed on.

It involves paying respect to those loved ones who are no longer alive by visiting gravesites to leave gifts, and celebrating with friends and family.
