Just two years ago, you could only fly directly to the destination from about 20 U.S. airports.

Today, you can fly nonstop from 29, and now, Volaris will offer new nonstop Los Cabos flights from one U.S. city for the first time ever.

Oakland, California, is the city where the service is scheduled to begin operating daily next spring.

Why Los Cabos Is So Popular Among Californians

The state of California is as close to Los Cabos as American travelers can get.

It’s just a couple of hours away from most cities in the state that connect to Los Cabos International Airport.

This is why it’s no surprise that you can fly to Los Cabos from several California cities.

Getting From Los Cabos International Airport To Your Hotel

Los Cabos International Airport is located just outside of San Jose del Cabo, so getting into town is quick and easy if you’re staying there.

If you’re going to be staying in Cabo San Lucas, the trip from the airport to town takes a little longer, about a half hour.

To get from the airport to your hotel, you can expect to pay at least $70 and $90, respectively, for a taxi.

The cost of private transportation might be slightly higher, but the advantages of booking private transportation are worth it.

Three of those advantages are the ability to book in advance, have your driver stop at a store if necessary, and know ahead of time what you’ll be paying.

Tips For Arriving In Los Cabos

The airport in Los Cabos is pretty busy, so you’ll want to have all of your documentation handy so you can move through the airport quickly.

Also be sure you know what you can and cannot bring into the country to avoid delays, or worse.

Last but not least, avoid the “Shark Tank” when leaving the airport.

This is an area filled with timeshare salespeople who would be all too happy to whisk you away to a lengthy presentation, and this is not how you want to start your Los Cabos vacation.
