What type of traveler are you? The answer to that question can help you determine the best destination and part of the world to travel to, based on your personal likes and preferences.

It can also help you determine which of the two cities that make up Los Cabos is the best place for your ultimate Mexican vacation getaway.

The Two Los Cabos

According to the Association of Professionals and Business Leaders of Los Cabos President Robbin Hernandez, travelers can enjoy very different experiences by visiting each of the two cities that make up Los Cabos – San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.

“Each one has an independent identity, including Cabo del Este,” Hernandez said in a report on the topic. “Each one will have an identity that will be sold. What is sold here in San José is different than what is sold in Cabo San Lucas. But, in the end we are a single, unique destination.”

Let’s take a look at the different elements of a vacation that make Los Cabos a popular destination for tourists from all over the world.

San Jose vs Cabo San Lucas

The two cities that make up Los Cabos are evolving into two very different experiences for travelers to Baja California Sur.

Are you looking to head to Los Cabos to set your sights on some partying, nightlife and plenty of fun in the sun, sand and surf?

Then Cabo San Lucas is for you.

You should plan a vacation getaway that focuses more on culture, art, relaxation and foodie experiences in San Jose del Cabo instead.

Between the two cities, there is pretty much a place for every traveler passion in Los Cabos.

The New Outreach Plan

The two different Los Cabos are going to be the focus of a new Los Cabos Tourism Trust effort to welcome new tourists to Los Cabos and encourage a return visit from those that have been here before.

The plans are to continue showing travelers how great Los Cabos is for a vacation getaway, but also highlight the unique aspects of the two cities for visitors at the very same time.

It’s the concept that Los Cabos is two cities and one travel destination all at the same time.

The Los Cabos Tourism Trust wants to show you that Los Cabos actually holds more value as a vacation getaway because it is essentially two different trips in one flight.

Recently, the perception of value in Los Cabos has been decreasing due to concerns about cleanliness, traffic, crime and rising room rates and other costs which have led to up to a 33 percent decrease in sales among business owners in the tourist hotspot.

What Travelers Need to Know

Los Cabos is eagerly working to fix issues that have been identified by many travelers to the area, including our readers right here at the Cabo Sun, and welcome them back to Los Cabos, which is two different vacation experiences for the price of one.

The perception of many travelers is that Los Cabos is a single destination, and with the lack of desire among travelers for return travel, one vacation getaway to the sun, sand, and surf of Los Cabos is sufficient.

Would you be willing to visit Los Cabos because it is considered a better value for vacation visitors with two destinations for the price of one? If you have been here, would this make you want to come again? We welcome your feedback in the comments section below.

I have traveled to Cabo San Lucas for over 30 years . When I was young , I didn't mind the loud noises from the clubs ricocheting across the Marina late(4 a.m.) into the morning hours . Lots of fun ! I am now in my 70's. Not so fun . Have seen many parts of the Los Cabo area . Took a Panama Canal cruise last year with a stop-over in Cabo . First time seeing the area from that vantage point , Beautiful ! Took the scenic city tour of San Jose del Cabo and fell in love with the quaint beauty of the market plaza there . Highly recommend this sachet. Love the history and culture of this part of Cabo del Sur . Make Cabo your home base and explore some of the beautiful places that surround you . Go to Todos Santos. Or, take the drive on over to La Paz for a deeper dive into true Mexican culture. Beautiful beaches(gotta look, but not too hard ) for them . Wonderful food and don't forget the panaderia's. The best ! With an open mind , there is something for everyone in Cabo !
