Los Cabos is known for many things.
One of the things that attract millions of tourists every year is its extensive list of accommodation options.
There’s a little bit of everything – hostels, boutique hotels, Airbnbs, and, most popular of all, luxury all-inclusives, and there are many of them.
How Many Hotels Are There In Los Cabos?
The number of Los Cabos hotels has grown to epic proportions.
In the state of Baja California Sur as a whole, most recent estimates are that there are around 500 hotels, most of which are in Los Cabos, and nearly 1,000 more rooms are currently under construction.
With so many to choose from, here are five tips for choosing the perfect stay for you.
Tip #1 – Determine How Much You Want To Spend
The average nightly hotel rate in Los Cabos is around just under $500 a night, but that’s just an average.
Rates vary considerably, depending on the type of accommodation, the level of luxury, dates of stay, and location.
For a highly rated hostel, you can pay as little as $40 a night, less than $100 for a hotel, and for a luxury all-inclusive $425 or more a night for dates in July.
Since rates range so significantly, the first step in choosing where you’ll rest your head during your Los Cabos vacation is determining how much you want to spend on accommodations.
Tip #2 – Decide If An All-Inclusive Is For You
The next step is determining if an all-inclusive is right for you or if you’d rather have the space of a vacation rental or the more intimate size of a hotel for your stay.
In the past, all-inclusives have gotten a bad reputation, but all-inclusives in Los Cabos are a far cry from the all-inclusives of the past.
Los Cabos is known for having incredible luxury all-inclusives that offer gourmet dining, luxurious accommodations, amazing service, and more.
Tip #3 – Choose The Area You Want To Be In
Los Cabos is made up of three different areas.
Cabo San Lucas is the more lively area, where the most water activities are offered, there are more restaurant choices and a more vibrant nightlife.
San Jose del Cabo offers more of a cultural experience and has a more laid-back atmosphere and small-town vibe.
The Tourist Corridor that runs between the two cities is more peaceful, separate from the more touristy areas.
Which one you choose depends on the kind of vacation you’re hoping to have.
Tip #4 – Make A List Of Amenities You Can’t Live Without
The whole point of a vacation is to get a little relaxation time and to have some fun.
This is why amenities are so important, so you should make a list of the ones you can’t live without.
If you want to be waited on hand and foot, then add butler service to your list, or if you want a hotel with great food, add gourmet dining to your list.
Amenities vary considerably, so knowing exactly what you want helps in finding the best hotel for your stay.
Tip #5 – Play With The Dates To See If You Can Land Special Rates Or Offers
If you’re not set on specific dates, then you may be able to play with the dates to see if special rates or offers are available during certain timeframes.
Weekdays compared to weekends, holidays compared to days when nothing significant is happening, and slow seasons compared to high seasons can mean significant variations in rates.
Choosing a time when rates are lower can mean saving money or getting something more luxurious for a better price.
Final Thoughts
For many, a vacation is something you only get once a year, and these days are cherished.
This is why it’s so important to get it right.
Use these tips to help you plan the perfect Los Cabos vacation that you deserve.
