Los Cabos has been a popular vacation destination for quite some time, but its popularity as a luxury destination has been increasing just over the last several years.
Luxurious high-end resorts have been popping up left and right, with several more preparing to open this year.
As the destination makes a name for itself among the most discerning travelers, it’s getting more expensive to vacation in Los Cabos, with hotels averaging nearly $600 per night, according to the Los Cabos Hotel Association.
Let’s look at what you can get for that price, a little less, and even more if you’re really looking for a luxury experience.
Hotels, Resorts, And Everything In Between
Los Cabos doesn’t just have traditional hotels but a huge variety of options.
You’ll find everything from chain hotels, all-inclusives, and huge resorts to boutique hotels and hostels.
Vacation rental platforms like Airbnb are also an option, but more and more travelers are staying in luxury hotels when they visit the destination.
Hotels For Around $600 A Night
Highly-rated hotels in Los Cabos range from around $100 a night during the summer to over $1,000 a night, so $600 is around mid-range.
Prices go up even higher during busy seasons like spring break and wintertime.
This summer, for dates in June, some of the hotels that you can get for around that $600 nightly rate include:
- Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos All-Inclusive Golf & Spa – $585
- Paradisus Los Cabos – Adults Only – All-Inclusive – $577
- Viceroy Los Cabos – $574
- Breathless Cabo San Lucas – Adults Only – $544
More Budget-Friendly Options
Even though Los Cabos is quickly growing as a luxury vacation destination, there are some options that are more budget-friendly, too.
You can find highly-rated hotels for as low as $100 a night.
Some of the budget-friendly options available for the same dates in June this year are:
- Mayan Monkey Los Cabos – $104
- Hotel Los Patios – $104
- Marisol Boutique Hotel – $116
- Solmar Resort – $129
The Ultimate In Luxury
While the average hotel rate in Los Cabos is around $600, there are also many more expensive hotels.
These ultra-luxury hotels can be priced well beyond $1,000 a night and even as much as $1,500 a night during high season.
Some of these ultimate-in-luxury properties going for over $1,000 a night this June include:
- Zadun, A Ritz Carlton Reserve – $1,419
- Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal – $1,287
- Grand Velas Los Cabos Luxury All Inclusive – $1,209
- Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos Adult Only All-Inclusive – $1,033
Why Los Cabos Is So Popular
The question isn’t so much “why is Los Cabos so popular?” but rather “why wouldn’t it be?”
Los Cabos, which is made up of the two separate destinations of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, is full of things to do.
The diverse list of activities ranges from outdoor nature activities like hiking, ATVing, and horseback riding to water activities like kayaking, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and boat tours.
New Luxury Hotels Coming To Los Cabos This Year
As mentioned previously, new hotels are opening in Los Cabos every year.
This year, at least four new luxury hotels will be opening. They include:
- The Soho House Los Cabos
- St. Regis Los Cabos
- Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol
- Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo Del Sol
Tips For Picking The Best Los Cabos Area For Your Vacation
With three different areas in Los Cabos to choose from, it’s important to pick the perfect destination for your Los Cabos vacation.
San Jose del Cabo and the Tourist Corridor are ideal if you’re looking for a more relaxing vacation.
Cabo San Lucas, on the other hand, is where all the action is. The area has the most water activities and nightlife, as well as Los Cabos’ most popular beach, El Medano.
All three areas have plenty of luxury resorts to choose from.
