Los Cabos continues to soar to new heights this spring, and room options are dwindling for last-minute vacationers.

The latest report shows 90% of rooms are occupied in the coming weeks as Spring Breakers and holiday-makers enjoy all this sunny season has to offer.

Of course, one of the main reasons travelers choose Los Cabos in the first place is to stay at one of the many world-renowned resorts.

So now is the best time to scoop up what’s left, as the numbers support why spring is one of the best times of the year for a premiere beach vacation in Los Cabos.

Tourism Is Booming

Los Cabos is an upscale year-round destination and rarely is there a time not to visit.

Sometimes Mother Nature alters travelers plans from time to time during hurricane season, but spring has few downsides.

At the end of 2023, it was predicted by local experts that Cabo would have another record-breaking year for tourism.

Given how packed their incredible resorts are at this time, that trajectory doesn’t appear to be slowing any time soon.

Exorbitant Rates Not Slowing Down Tourism

Los Cabos is synonymous with luxury, but not every luxurious destination comes at extremely high prices.

It is possible to save on airfare and score some deals on less expensive rooms, but the days of double-digit nightly rates are few and far between.

Los Cabos tourists have been seeing sky-rates often upwards of $500 per night at many of the top resorts.

Although, there are some hotels that can be found in the $300s later this spring. Now that spring has clearly sprung, more and more travelers are expected to continue flocking to paradise, which surely will keep the high rates at bay for the foreseeable future.

Spring Break And Easter

Beautiful weather aside, 2 of the most common reasons for visiting Los Cabos in the springtime are to let loose for Spring Break and to celebrate Easter.

Easter changes dates each year, but it seems these 2 are overlapping this spring.

Hotels are nearly full for both types of crowds, and occupancy is expected to reach nearly 100% through late March and early April.

“In March we have a very good occupation, we are waiting to close at 81 percent. It is the one with the highest occupancy and certainly, in addition to being a good season for the traveler, we have ‘Spring Breakers’ at home and this year Easter is gathered…we will be at 90 percent occupancy.”

Lilzi Orci, Executive President of Asociacion de Hoteles de Los Cabos (AHLC)

March is expected to be the busiest month until summer, so if crowds are a nuisance to you, then it may be best to push off a last-minute getaway and visit later this spring.

Cabo San Lucas is the busier side right now, which is understandable given the amount of luxurious beachfront resorts and easy access to one of Mexico’s best nightlife scenes.

San Jose del Cabo is still receiving high amounts of bookings, but tends to be more mellow and cultural, while still offering some of the area’s top resorts and beaches.

Safest Vacation Destination In Mexico This Spring

Security operations have been a success this season, with very few incidents worth noting. Baja’s top vacation spot has implemented numerous ways to keep tourists safe with the influx of crowds.

Sometimes Spring Break can get a out of hand with massive crowds and drinks flowing, but trained security personnel, as well as the Mexican Navy, have done their part to provide a safe environment for tourists.

Those wondering if the now is the best time to visit should know, yes, you may find some crowds to be overwhelming, but Los Cabos is indeed safe even when jam-packed.
