Connectivity between Los Cabos and the United States has been steadily growing over the last several years and doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down any time soon.

Just this year, several new flights from various U.S. cities to Los Cabos International Airport were announced, as well as additional frequencies on already operating routes.

Now, Alaska Airlines is launching a new route to Los Cabos, too, from Sacramento, California, starting this winter.

Alaska Airlines’ Growing Connectivity With Baja California

Los Cabos is not the only destination in Baja California that Alaska Airlines flies to.

The airline just recently announced that it will fly directly from Los Angeles to the capital city of La Paz, Mexico.

The route will begin operating in November.

This is a historic route, as Alaska Airlines is the only airline to fly to the destination from the United States.

Other Airlines Flying From The U.S. To Los Cabos

Alaska Airlines isn’t the only major carrier flying to Los Cabos, nor is it the one that offers the most flights to the popular destination, although it does tie Delta for second place.

Southwest Airlines offers direct flights from a total of 12 U.S. airports.

Additionally, five other airlines have routes to Los Cabos as well, including American Airlines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Sun Country Airlines, and United Airlines.

New Flights To Los Cabos Announced This Year

A few new flights to Los Cabos just began operating this year.

Southwest Airlines announced in March that it would start flying to Los Cabos International Airport from two new U.S. cities this year.

A Santa Ana, California route starting August 10th, and flights from Denver, although the date that route would start operating was not in the announcement.

Frontier also started offering flights from Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport in May of this year.

Los Cabos’s Overall Connectivity With The U.S.

With all the new flights from the U.S. to Los Cabos being offered, connectivity to the destination has grown to epic proportions.

American travelers can now fly to Los Cabos from 28 U.S. airports.

That number will increase even more by the end of the year when the new flights announced this year begin operating.

When The Most Flights To Los Cabos Are Available

The availability of flights to Los Cabos from the U.S. fluctuates based on the time of year.

The destination is busiest during winter when American travelers flock to it to escape the cold.

This is when airlines ramp up service to Los Cabos and is when most flights to the destination are available, so if you want the most options for getting to Los Cabos, the winter is the best time to visit.

It is all very well having more flights, but the Airport is unable to cope now with the amount of Visitors. Lets hope that they will expand all facilities to allow a speedier process through Passport Control and also through the Customs, having to place your bags on and off for additional screening is just crazy, as they have already been through that at the home location.
