Although Los Cabos is home to a rising number of luxury hotels, hostels are available in the area and are becoming more popular due to their affordability and central locations.
Sofia Hostel Cabo
Located right in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, Sofia Hostel is one of the most popular in the area. Previous guests have commented on how friendly the staff is, as well as the cleanliness of the rooms and the delicious breakfast.

Some of the standouts noticed by visitors are that the hostel’s owner, Joe, is super friendly and helpful, especially when organizing last-minute tours or bookings, and also that it is particularly welcoming and safe for solo female travelers.
The hostel offers beds in either mixed or female-only 6-bed dorms for just $25, but all rooms have a terrace, plus there’s a shared dining area and garden with views of the seafront. Many people noted that the hostel has free parking, which is ideal for visitors hiring rental cars in the area.
Desert Heart Hostel
Desert Heart Hostel is a clean, welcoming hostel in Cabo San Lucas, not far from La Hotelera Beach. There are private rooms are 8-bed mixed dormitories which are air-conditioned with a shared bathroom.

Featuring a stunning outdoor pool and terrace, the hostel has a combination of dormitories and private queen rooms, which have balconies.
The best part about this hostel, according to visitors, is the onsite restaurant serving Mexican, Pizza, and Texmex cuisine, as well as the bathrooms, which have free toiletries.
They also mentioned that the outdoor area and shared kitchen were useful for getting work done and that it’s easy to meet people at the bar, which plays music during the evenings.
DICI Co-Living House
Just a mile from Medano Beach, DICI Co-Living House is one of the highest-rated hostels in Cabo San Lucas and has multiple 4-bed dormitories as well as double rooms with shared bathrooms.
According to reviews by past guests, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is extremely spacious, and the communal garden, which has a fireplace, is lovely for sitting with friends in the evening.
A light breakfast and coffee is included each morning, and visitors also mentioned that the WiFi is super-fast, and the property’s location is great due to it being quiet at night and far enough away from the main clubs of Cabo San Lucas.
