These 8 Los Cabos Beaches Are The Most Crowded With Vendors

A lot of tourists who visit Los Cabos enjoy buying souvenirs from vendors on the beach but sometimes the beaches can become packed with vendors selling their wares, overwhelming visitors.  This is currently the case with eight Los Cabos beaches, which are the most crowded with vendors at this time.  Among the beaches that are overflowing with vendors are some of the most popular in the area, including the most popular beach in Cabo San Lucas.   

Although many of the beaches in the area are not swimmable, tourists still like to spend time on the beaches enjoying the weather and the views.  But excessive amounts of lounge chairs, vendor setups, and vendors themselves take up a lot of the space meant for beachgoers.  This, in addition to the barrage of attempts to get tourists to buy vendor items, can take away from the Los Cabos beach experience. 

The overcrowding of vendors on the beach has become such a problem that it has even been pointed out by a hotel representative on social media platforms.  In the posts made by Blanca Pedrín Torres, the most affected beaches are pointed out.  They include:

In addition to these beaches in Los Cabos, there are also two popular beaches in nearby La Paz that are being inundated by vendors as well.  Those beaches, located roughly two hours away from Cabo San Lucas, are La Ventana and Sargento.  La Paz is a popular day trip destination, known for its beautiful beaches and art community, for tourists visiting Los Cabos. 

Los Cabos is the name used to refer to the two separate vacation destinations of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.  While only about 20 miles apart, each has something different to offer tourists visiting the area.  Cabo San Lucas is more touristy, with a lot of all-inclusive resorts to choose from and a lively marina with restaurants and shops, while San Jose del Cabo is a more laid-back destination with an authentic Mexican vibe. 

Both Los Cabos destinations have stunning beaches for tourists to enjoy but some are more filled with vendors than others.  In response to this issue, Torres pointed out that “You don’t even have decent access to families, because they have to cross between restaurants because public beaches are invaded with concessions that they do not comply.”  Torres further pointed out that this makes the beaches less accessible and keeps people from wanting to visit these vendor-crowded beaches. 

There have been issues in the past with vendors on the beaches in Los Cabos. During the past year, for example, it has been a task for officials to locate unlicensed vendors and get them off of the beaches. Doing so helps to limit the number of vendors on the area’s popular beaches at any given time, and with the vendor situation again getting out of hand something may have to be done again to make the beaches more enjoyable for the many tourists who visit the area. 

There are more than 15 beaches in the Los Cabos area, distributed between Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, and the Tourist Corridor that runs between the two destinations.  This means that while the beaches mentioned above are packed with vendors eager to sell their goods, there are plenty of other beaches to enjoy during your Los Cabos vacation that will provide a better opportunity for some rest and relaxation.
